I like the default preset which looks like cinderblock bricks.

The light and dark blotches span adjacent bricks, so it looks more like dappled light shining on the bricks rather than discoloration of the bricks themselves, making it less useful.

Alright, I think I'll drop a thought on it.

EAdams has the positive side covered: the default preset does look nice, it reminds me of bricks located in sooty places. One more thing: your construction technique pretty good as well.

I overall think it's quite odd-ball. It's sometimes... convincing and other times totally off and weird. Like a lot of filters it produces extremely unexpected results which I believe produces not-so-useful results. I'd say you can force yourself to try using some of the outcomes, but I'd hold that questionable.

For example when I randomize your filter I get the result below. This is what I mean by "unexpected" where the results don't correspond to the original look of the preset and also the title "brick wall".

As a suggestion: try limiting your color palette or make a method where it's just not throwing itself all over the place. Also do restrict your controls, make sure that we get "bricks" as you describe.

I know that was rough on your filter but I hope you take this as an honest thought. If you need help constructing, please don't hesitate to ask.
