Alright, I think I'll drop a thought on it.
EAdams has the positive side covered: the default preset does look nice, it reminds me of bricks located in sooty places. One more thing: your construction technique pretty good as well.
I overall think it's quite odd-ball. It's sometimes... convincing and other times totally off and weird. Like a lot of filters it produces extremely unexpected results which I believe produces not-so-useful results. I'd say you can force yourself to try using some of the outcomes, but I'd hold that questionable.
For example when I randomize your filter I get the result below. This is what I mean by "unexpected" where the results don't correspond to the original look of the preset and also the title "brick wall".
As a suggestion: try limiting your color palette or make a method where it's just not throwing itself all over the place. Also do restrict your controls, make sure that we get "bricks" as you describe.
