This is really interesting and cool way to transform a source image into something totally different, and love the artistic effect and the complexity of the result

Nice filter.
![]() I like the design that it produces. DJI found a thing that you may delete and make the filter faster. It is that Invert component that you can see in his picture. Invert works only if it is activated or if there is a control that gives the chance to activate it. In your filter there is no way to activate it, so it has no effect and you can safely delete it. |

Thanx Ramlyn. That's what I thought. Maybe Tim2501 can do the same in an update.

Well, you got me
![]() I usually use deactivated invert-nodes as a "checkpoint" before I make connections to multiple nodes, just so I can switch the input quickly without making all the connections again. But yeah, it's something that cleans up your structure during experimentation, in this case it is completely useless. When I update the filter, I'll remove it. I wonder if it has a performance impact at all... |

Wiki: Optimizing Filters for Speed
Invert components are very fast. And this one isn't useless if it helps make the filter tree easier to read and work with. Just as long as you're aware that it's being used as a "checkpoint" (other authors do it too, not just Tim!). ![]() Also, great patterns from this filter! ![]() |

Thanx Indigo Ray. I haven't been making filters as long as most people here so I don't know all the little tricks of the trade. Personally I've never heard about this checkpoint thing when your mapping components together.
Yes Tim2501. That's just what I was trying to figure out, does it have any real performance value? I guess not. ![]() ![]() ![]() "Art is quite useless." Oscar Wilde |

Thanks Indigo Ray.
![]() In this filter I still think that Tim2501 can safely delete that Invert. The Blur component already works as stable point to collect all effects before. Furthermore, in this filter there is no work about HDR to LDR. |

Tim2501. If you don't mind, I will try to see if I can make any new filter using this filter as starting point ( I did many times with DJI. Ha! Ha! ).
I'll tell you if I post any new filter. I like the result you got here. |
