Thank you for this filter! Did you use Javascript in the making of the above animation?
This filter came at a great time for me! I am working on my Final Draft of Cornflakes and Chemo =- a funny look into making your time in hospital having chemotherapy more fun - or less unpleasant. I spent 6 months late last year and early this year getting chemo... When taking one of the chemo drugs you have to suck on ice for 30 minutes and I cannot stand to think about it and will be suggesting patients get family or friends to bring in ice lollies or icy poles (sticks), This filter I can make the lollies into the same colours as the chemo drugs! Oh yeah and I DID peek at your website!!! LG :>) Music is Universal! Be Kind to your fellow animals and humans! |

Hey... glad you found a usefull application for this
![]() No Javascript was used to create this but I did use the Filter Forge command line renderer. Using it is somewhat of a hassle since you have to create an XML file that describes all your frames with an FFXML file. But there's various user created solutions that build these files for you (some old info here). I use http://ffbatch.sjeiti.com/ I once wrote, which is also pretty outdated since it was build somewhere around FF2. But it still works just fine for a simple filter with a slider. The separate images were stitched together to an animated Gif using ImageMagick but there's plenty online services that can do this (albeit maybe not as well). |

Thanks. I may try it out.I can stitch the frames together as I am a photo video editor so have a couple of programs!
I used to program in basic VB c++ logo turtle etc for fun.. then by the age of 40 something... it started to get over my head.. hehe.. However I bought an old robot from a thrift shop and will have to drag out my programming skills (yeah right!) to make said robot move around... Maybe he can serve up a few of your ice lollies! If I remember I will post a piccy of the final lolly images ere! Thanks and keep those filters coming I appreciate them and enjoy lokoing forward to seeing new ones!! Its late here so I pinned the animation page (thank you!) and look during the daytime... Will let you know how i go! LG :>) Music is Universal! Be Kind to your fellow animals and humans! |

I think that maybe it could look even better if the lollies could use real images, so they could be even more realistic and use real source images of lollies or ice creams, and even add toppings
Thanks, glad you like it the source colors is from a square based rainbow tiles I found on internet (sorry that I do not remember were now) and the effect of spiral is done with the Droste effect and I have put some other examples in the comments of the filter page Droste filters comments Furthermore I have also made this other thread about the same topic How to use FF to make the Droste effect |

I went for a more cartoony look here. It started out as a height mapped filter but in the end I even took out the gradients (all but a tiny shadow). There is one mistake I still have to correct where the highlight enters the shadow.
But you're welcome to clone this filter and add an image node. Sprinkled candy and nuts is a good idea though. I also tried to let the drip offset the sides but it was a bit difficult the way it's currently set up. Might have another go at that. |
