Of course the only thing I don't like is the gradient when not using a square image.
Perhaps this might be of some use.. http://www.filterforge.com/filters/1915.html Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

Awesome! Thanks for the link CFandM! I was actually wondering if there was a filter that did that but didn't know what to call it! I'll try it right away, thanks again ^_^ Looks like I'll be relying on another of uberzev's awesome Snippets ^_-

I'm "allergic" to paper but I'll make an exception just this once.
![]() Great job again Zephos, you're on a roll. |

Great work there, Zephos. I really like the idea and execution.
One small remark: The look of the ring binding of the sketch book needs some improvement, IMHO. Normally, the binding is either made of plastic or metal, so my suggestion would be to introduce reflectivity, reflection blur and metallic maps to refine the binding area. ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

I couldn't hardly believe the variety of the presets on this one. Zephos is just on a major roll lately, top work.

Thank you uberzev! ^_^ Needless to say, your Proportional Gradient helped me out immensely and now the new Sketch Book Lv2 will be able to tile vertically seamlessly ~^_^~
I'm glad that you like it Kraellin! Strangely enough, this is one of those filters that seemed to fit together naturally from the start. Originally, it was just going to be a ruled line paper generator called "School Rules", but later on, when I introduced the array of art mediums and paper types and textures, I figured to call it something else more general ^_^ Awesome idea Crapadilla! After hearing your idea, I went right in and checked out what I could soup up ^_^ I wasn't able to get the reflectivity, reflection blur and metallic maps to work for me just yet, so I manually created a layer on top that simulates a highlight for the time being. I hope to upgrade it to work with those actual maps though before releasing Level 2, though ^_^ I'm happy that you like the presets that I created for Sketch Book, jffe~! ^_- The Art Mediums currently available in it lack a bit of control, however, theoretically you can combine Sketch Book with other art medium filters by plugging them into the far bottom right Switch board like Northernshadow's awesome Charcoal Drawing filter I'd imagine. Hmmm... I think I'll try a few tests like that out just for good measures ^_- It just occurred to me when you mentioned the presets, ahahahah so hopefully "theoretically" is upgraded to "technically"! Thank you all for your input! I hope to make Sketch Book even better than before now! ~^_^~ -Zephos |

Fusion!
A quick test of plugging Northernshadow's Charcoal Drawing into Sketch Book! It seems there was one thing I missed in theory, and that's that the filter connected to the Switch board should have a transparent background, but that wasn't a big problem for Charcoal Drawing, so it was pretty much plug and play. Oh yes! This is actually Sketch Book Lv2, so the bindings now have highlights. I'm still playing around when them to get a more realistic look, but hope this gives a glimpse at what they might look like ^_^ ![]() -Zephos |

^ That looks fantastic. I like how the bindings look less flat than before. Paired with that Charcoal Drawing filter, it's an awesome combo. BTW, towards the right edge, it doesn't look quite right how the drawing continues onward instead of stopping, and in the upper-right, there appears to be some "veining" that could've been stopped a little more left too. It's not bad, just noticeable.
Suggestion: what about a "cover" mode to make notebook covers? You know how some have leather fronts and backs, or even a rectangular area to print your name and the title of your class project? ![]() » http://www.jampaper.com/userFiles/pro...olders.jpg Construction paper filter with that bit of coarse feeling would be fun to later scribble on, or at least assemble into South Park characters. ![]() It's skool dayz all over again! Excellent observations Torley! Those are some nice suggestions, I'll look into it to see if I can refine them up for the new version. With the cover option, actually, it's interesting that you mentioned that. Originally, I was going to make it an option but was wondering if it was more of a novelty feature than anything really practical, then again, if there are people who would find it useful, I would be more than glad to add it in ^_-

Level Up!
Sketch Book is now: Sketch Book Lv2! New features include: New Binding Options! The Sketch Book binding can now be changed in color and shininess independently for either the standard metal coil feel or kid friendly colorful plastic! Five New Paper Textures The amount of available paper textures has now doubled! New textures include Cross-Weave, Handmade and Water-Damage! Mini-Manga Kata Fragment! For those who liked my other filter Manga Kata, there is now a mini version under the final Art Medium in Sketch Book Lv2! This version is extensively simplified and has no independent controls, but it achieves the base effect and makes an excellent addition! New Filter Correction Highlights! -Binding veins cleaned up! -Binding surface map corrected so paper wrinkles don't effect the full binding -Ubersev's Proportional Gradient has now been introduced into the mix! Allowing for seamless vertical tiling! -Zephos |
