Excellent work -- clear idea, fast rendering, simple controls. Beautiful!

Whoops -- there is a problem with the Size slider, it breaks everything. Had to take the Editor's Pick back.

BTW It would be nice to have the editors choice requirements posted somewhere, I never realized "size, pixels" functionality was necessary. |

Hmmm... I thought this is an obvious thing. If a user moves a slider and it breaks the picture, can this be considered a good filter? |

Anyway the reason I used the frame component in the first place (which is what broke the "size, pixels" slider) is because it has slightly better performance than the tiles component. |

Things like this are very hard to formalize. For example, if we require that "in order to qualify for an Editor's Pick a filter must have simple controls, where the simplicity is defined as having 7 or less controls with one-word control names using words from the top 2000 most-used words list according to a frequency dictionary such-and-such for year XXXX", I'm pretty sure that some members of the author community would object to this rule. |

BTW the update works perfectly -- the Editor's Pick is back.
Now you can simplify the controls even further by removing the Tiles slider which is not necessary anymore because Size does its job. Also, this Tiles slider causes the majority of problems with randomizing. |

Nice work, Uber!!!
![]() I would like to see some editor's pick requirements and suggestions too. I'm starting to scratch my head about why some of my own filters have not been chosen....when they are clearly 'worthy' in comparison to alot of filters that are already there.... Steve

Very elegant solution, uberzev. Actually this suggests a way to further simplify the internals of my Lounge Lizards filter.

Nice. I had to open this one up just to see how it worked. Threshold is one component I haven't really tinkered with.

StevieJ I think I have the solution - my next filter will be called Editors Pick - leading into a series called Most Popular............. Carl

Uber, I appologize for putting this stuff in your filter comments. I realize that I wouldn't like it in mine. Sorry about this....

This forum say that i created my accound on October 3, 2011.
That is when i discovered Filter Forge and installed the beta on the computer of my friend artist and mine, even though he is the only one who own and use Photoshop. Me, all i have are the Gimp, Inkscape and others free softwares. Since then, that texture, without the white line, has been my wallpaper on Windows XP (we stayed on XP a long time), then on Windows 7. I mostly never removed it since then. |
