StevieJ Designer/Artist Posts: 11264 Filters: 163	Yup, actually just finished three pastel versions.... I just need to take the time to make presets for them.... I also have two more "SolarGlow" filter verions that are almost ready to submit....and I think you might like them. I don't know what it is, but I really like these solar effects....as simple as they are.....especially using them in post-combination with other effects. It's funny....I never used to like solar effects at all.....maybe because they were plain solar effects without the artistic twists..... Kraellin, yeah, I've stumble into alot of things that way I just found another neat trick.....putting everything before the final blend and putting the curve work after it. StevieJ Designer/Artist Posts: 11264 Filters: 163	Some other little tricks that I just discovered that seem to work well.....putting all the blend mode work first....then levels, gamma, saturation, and lightness work....then the curve work.....then ending with color and contrast.... Through alot of experimentation, doing the mode work after the curve work was deteriorating the image.....and was much more "cleaner" up front.... Kraellin Kraellin Posts: 12749 Filters: 99	well, just remember what vlad said... ok, i cant remember what vlad said. but, it's on the wiki somewhere and has to do with one component mapping into another component. there's also a thread in here with what he said. just think infusing one component effect into another. ok, you probably already know that, but do read the wike stuff on it. it breaks it down better than i can explain it. StevieJ Designer/Artist Posts: 11264 Filters: 163	Carl, glad that it helped you..... and thank you for confirming the results of my 'mad scientist' experimentations Kraellin, no, I haven't read anything about it.....but I'm going to go read it. As you can probably tell by looking under the hood and comparing, I've made all of my filters from scratch without borrowing anything from anyone else. I think that I'm learning it better this way.....and it is helping me discover unique effects that have not been done.....even if they are simple effects.
