I think that you have something with delving into B&W.....not many, if any, really get into it here. I certainly have an appreciation for it like you smile:)

Are you going to post some of your new gradient curve work??? Look foreward to checking it out.....and seeing what you will come up with next smile:devil: smile:)

I haven't fogotten about your elusive "MONSTER" .....the "mutha" of all filters smile:devil: LOL.....

Again, don't blame you at all for hanging onto it.....could have some new components around the corner to help that "bad boy" along..... smile:)

basically, the curves work is experiments with curves and profile gradients. no real filters coming out of it and none really intended. it's more a study than anything... plug this into that and see what happens. a lot of it is turning curves into shapes and seeing what can and cant be done with that. and whereas i can get some really unusual shapes and such, there's nothing i really see so far with much potential for a filter. i did just post one, the life saver, in the waterfalls thread. that one's kinda cute, but it's not really a curves/profile gradient one. just something that came up as a result of some tests.

and i havent forgotten the monster but it's been pushed back yet again. i just cant quite get it to behave how i want... yet. and i still am not sure how to release it, since it borrows so heavily on having a multitude of other filters within it. in fact, i went back to the original image i posted and the filter version that made that and am looking at it from scratch again. i posted that one pic of the woman with the alien skin over on retouchpro. hehehe, got some good reactions on that one smile:)

I knew that one was really good work!!! I have to admit that I was a little surprised at the "conservative" response to it here.....probably a little more "liberal" towards that type of work over there.....so good idea to put it up there.....and maybe other places as well.

I was also thinking that gamers aren't really going to wollow in here unless FF creates a 3D environment.....but I don't think they want to go there with all the other 3D programs out there.....

Speaking of gradient work.....have you checked out Carl's "Atmosphere Metallics" filter??? Very simple.....but the spectral metallic effect he started to get on the lead preset is truly unbelievable!!! I'm trying to get him to develope it.....because I think it is the most amazing metallic effect that I've seen here so far!!! Are you heading in a similar direction with your grad and curve work.....surface or object???
