ah! now i know what's been bugging me, what i've been trying to remember. this one isnt glass; it's ice! it's the pitting. glass wont pit like that, but ice will. and in fact, if you freeze sand or some other gritty material in ice and then let it melt off a bit, you'll get that pitting. the sand falls out as the ice thaws but leaves the indent of where it was.
and as i go back now and look at your sample images and presets, that's it, it's ice! If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

 I didn't call it that because it looks like glass in alot of other settings.....trying not to divide the effects up any more than I have to.....for fear of being lynched by those who don't like the fact that I break them up at all LOL.....Steve

hehe, well, when you posted that one in the gallery, it kept bugging me for some reason and i couldnt quite get why. so, there ya go
but when you get right down to it, glass and ice have very similar properties, so, we'll leave the lynch mob out of this for now If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Hmmmm.....now that I've thought about it, maybe it would be a good idea to divide it into ice and glass filters.....certainly would make it easier for the user to get what they want without having to dig it out amongst other effects. Having lockable controls in randomization would make that alot easier.....not to mention how much more effecient it would be when making a filter and running tests.....

up to you, of course, but i pay little attention to names when i actually use a filter. it's the effect that's important. so, it's a good filter, regardless of calling it ice cream, snowball or orange popsicle. the names are mostly a convention to help finding the effect. (which is a bit of a bug-a-boo i have with some of the filter names around here. (and i'm not referring to any of yorus
