Thanks, guys.
This was one of those filters that I thought up, then was pleasantly surprised with some of it's results (where usually my ideas never turn out and I end up scrapping the whole filter). I'm not sure what uses it might serve (maybe some embossed background wall or something?) -- anyway I just liked the Giger-esque feel it seemed to have. (I love looking at his work.) |

Yep, Ron, that's pretty much what the filter was intended to reproduce.
If anyone earlier thought I had no idea what I was creating, then that just means they fell for my little ruse.

Yeah, the shininess does seem to take it in a slightly different direction. I may get back to it sometime to try to add a grain effect -- as it sounds like a good idea. (But I've got too many other projects I want to focus on at the moment... ) |

Although popularity and high quality are different things
I'd add this filter to "Users' Pick" nomination. 'Alien Ribs' is perfect in its category. Can only say to SSamm, - IF You are planning any updates or ideas for this and don't know how to do something - I would be glad to help without any gratitudes. Best Regards, Constantin |

(I'm guessing I missed them because my mundane job sucks up too much time to browse the forums thoroughly...) Constantin, (from back in October):

Well, I was planning to experiment more with it to try to make it look more Giger-esque (e.g. by adding dirtiness/grunge stuff?) -- but I never got around to it and have been totally distracted with other projects... But in case anyone does come up with their own alternate version: feel free to submit it (as I'd probably enjoy it). |
