That is the hardest thing about particle board, every sample I looked at was different, so I engineered this filter to be able to produce a wide array of different types of particle board, while still keeping it simple.

I have wanted to make this filter for ever and haven't been compotent enough until as of late, thanks for the compliment.

you're welcome smile:)

and while you're doing composite board you might also take a look at doing some of the other 'chip' types. there's quite a variety any more.

There are so many filters I want to do; however, I do plan to revisit this filter and change it into a metal filter as well so you have the multi colored metal panels.

This is a great filter, I took a few liberties with it and it makes an awesome corrogated metal.

(I wont bother submitting it, since it is so heavily based on your filter, but I just wanted to show you)

I could make something like that, but I wont, so please please please submit and just say in the description Redcap is cool, or something like that smile:)

I don't really even care about my name in the description it is just apparently proper ettiquete, but really please submit that. Awesome, glad you like my filter.

Ok...maybe next week I will play with it some more and see how I can vary it up somewaht. I think I can play with some interesting rust patterns on it.

That is why I like this filter, first it has inspired Ron to make a sweet filter and also because it has such simple controls yet yields effects that appeal to different people.

So though this filter is realistic looking, I wonder how many people are going to find particle board useful smile:)

Personally I have a lot of uses for procedural yet realistic textures that recreate common surfaces. Realistic bricks, metal, wood, organics, etc. are really handy for 3D work. It's really hard to get very large photos at the proper texture scale, so procedural textures are better than photos / bitmaps -- they can generate very large textures without tiling.

I believe in a democratic society, so the 6's have it. I have changed my preset to reflect preset # 6, so the above dialouge may or may not apply anymore. smile:)
