Very nice Revelation! Best face yet. Ordinarily I would ask you if there was anything I could do to improve it but I guess you're stuck with it as-is. Thanks for the sample. BTW, color is very very important with this filter, not just the hue and saturation settings but *value determines glow* so you might keep that in mind when you are trying to get the effect you're after.

Thank you

This one was Kraellin's idea. I put a photo of my nephew inside the orb and when I showed him he kept insisting he was never there. He said it must be a really old picture because he did not remember ever being inside an orb – he is five. BTW, he loved it so for you filter users out there if you want to make a little boy happy put him inside an orb.
Oddly enough, at least it’s odd in my opinion, ‘The Orb – Frame’ has done better than this one ‘Birth of The Orb – Frame’, as of a few days ago – even though ‘The Orb – Frame’ allows for only a very small amount of the framed image to be visible. I just never know what users will find useful.
Thanks for checking it out. smile:D

I deleted almost my whole gallery. All that is left is like 4 or 5 pics, 3 or 4 fractals, and a Woody. Hold on, I'll get the links. smile:D

I love fractals. I wish FF had a fractal component but I'm not sure if that would be practical.

Here is what is left of my Bryce gallery. 3 of the pics are 2D and one is Poser. I just prefer the atmosphere in the Bryce gallery as the people are friendlier.

A Poser pic in the right gallery. smile:D http://www.3dcommune.com/3d/gallery.m...+W9yBbWlp2

And the Woody I didn't delete. It was made in Bryce http://www.3dcommune.com/3d/gallery.m...+W9yBbWlp2

There are free fractal makers. I think I have the link for the one I used. Hold on and I'll see. I found it difficult to do, but you are good at this stuff and would probably be great at it.

A woman went into my gallery, took some of my stuff, covered over my name, renamed the pics, and passed them around as her own.

Then I looked at the ones I had made and saw all the mistakes and how newbie they looked and deleted them. I have them on a disk here somewhere. I have too many disks, so finding them could take months. smile:D

I love all of your fractals; especially ‘MD 0002’ and ‘MD 0001’ but even more especially I love ‘MD 0003’. Amber competes for my second favorite color and the fractal pattern and arrangement are superb – it would look nice in an orb.
The value gradient of ‘MD 0001’ is the best I have ever seen.

Hans is fixing up a website where my stuff will be posted. He has some there right now, but the site still needs work and maybe he has my pics handy.

Here's a couple more of mine. Hans and I share this forum and his website. While your at the Worldcrossing forum that this link is too, you might want to peek at his stuff. Be forewarned...he doesn't do cutesy stuff like me. http://wc3.worldcrossing.com/webx?14@@.1de137f3

How long did 'New Friend' take you? Do you do animation? 'New Friend' is very nice - I am only just beginning to be able to appreciate how nice it really is.

New friend was actually fairly fast, just a day or so. The Dusk one (all orangey) took me a month as I made almost all the models myself in Rhino and Bryce. I also made the textures. With New Friend I used models and textures I bought. Just a matter of placing and posing them.

I need to check it out someday. There are so many modelers out there. I have Hex 2 something. I used Rhino as a demo and really liked it. I tried 3D Max many years ago long before I was ready and never tried it again.

No, I don't do animation.

I don't think it matters that much which one you use. The concepts should be basically the same in all of them.

Ok, I will do that. It's his birthday today so I can't pester him to get it done. smile:D Actually I could, but that would be mean.

There are differences in the modelers. The basic idea is the same, but people do find modelers they prefer over others. I prefer Rhino over Lightwave and 3D Max. I make simple models in Bryce and enjoy that. Bryce is my favorite 3D program. The textures are crap, the renders aren't that great really, and you can't pose models, but I still like it best. smile:D

Here is something I read today about CafeFX's new animation division. The only ones I have even heard of are Maya, Mental Ray, Softimage and After Effects. Are you surprised by any of the names on the list? I will add the link to but you may need a cookie.

The character animation pipeline will have Autodesk Maya at its core for animation and modeling, Softimage XSI for texturing and lighting, and Autodesk Mental Ray for rendering. The company’s production pipeline is also configured with cebas Thinking Particles, Sitrisati Fume FX, eyeon Digital Fusion, Autodesk Combustion, Massive, cebas finalRender Stage-2, 2d3 Boujou, Adobe After Effects, and Apple Shake.

My favorite is perogies. Are you going to make perogies!? smile:D smile:D I guess it's not really German, more like Polish, but they probably have them there. I have no idea about Filipino foods. Sounds like it may be spicy. I like extremely spicy foods.

German foods I am making:

Roladen, marinated red cabbage, cucumber salad, potato dumplings and gravy. For desert, German pancakes with butter, powdered sugar, sliced strawberries in glaze. (aka...crepes)

Filipino Food(not spicey at all): chicken/macaroni/pineapple salad (I normally make lumpia with this, but this time we are having baked chicken.

Also, my carrot/raison/pineapple salad.
