Wandering through the library briefly here and saw this one. Haven't tried it yet, but it looks like a technical achievement award winner at least, like the technique to get the effect is cool, even if the pics you run through it aren't. Anyways, cool looking filter, I gotta try it out sometime.

I hate to admit but, it was more of a techical accident... one of thoses times I was trying to work out something else and suprise! so I added the background and made a filter out of it. This is the windows 2000 sample pic

I forgot to mention one of the coolest things about this filter is that it renders fast, about 8 seconds for the sample pic.

I noticed, and when you did the sample above I wanted to try it with something I had in mind but didn't have the filter to do quite what I wanted....
So, I took my 2 images (related to each other) and layered them using your filter on the shell. I like this very much, thanks for sharing it ~Foxxee~

Foxxee,
I looked at it again this morning and I think it would be a cool poster or framed art. How big is the original? To you have the tools to do poster size prints?

if you don't mind my asking about your avatar... are you one of those guys that likes to test the voltage of his batteries with his tongue??? That looks awful painful |
In one of my former lives I was the manager of a toy store and yes! I've tested my share of 9 volt batteries in that manner. But now that I am more "mature" I have curbed my desire to give batteries the "taste test". I feel my avatar symbolizes one's inner stuggle with ...... (drones about Freud's theories of the unconscious mind) .......
......(drones on about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs)......
...... (droning about Brownian motion) .....
.........(Still droning about Fibonacci numbers)......
... and so you see where some might see the brillance others will understand he's still just a battery taster.

Uhhh... ok... hehe
I wish I did have that kind of hardware to print out poster size images. I'd have my walls covered with them if I did. The original image I had needed to be reduced greatly, it was bigger than my desktop I think.
You're more than welcome to use that sample if you'de like.
And.. I'm glad you grew out of your need to taste-test batteries though. Still an interesting avatar
