Thanks very much to both of you!
I ran a little experiment with a seamless version of preset 9. I used it as a height field, then applied the diffuse map to the result:

Thanks again! Okicyapo

This looks really great, Capn. I really enjoy looking at 3D images and what objects and environments look like with different applications of textures and such being used in them. Thanks for sharing this one
You did good

Hehe... You seemed to like that particular preset, so I made the 3D thing with you in mind. Thanks so much!

Ahimsa: That first one makes me think of the reflections in one of those glass ball ornaments for your Christmas tree. And... my favorite color again!
The second one makes me think of that old CGI show from television, 'Reboot'. Okicyapo

Foxxee. I think so. I think we like similar colors. I like purple on the blue side and blue most. Then greens, yellows, black, red, orange, and brown, in that order.
That first one has some good reflections. I wanted a black grid, but it didn't work for me. Any suggestions?

Well... I tried this out myself, and here is what I found out: If any 2 or more of the RGB values are zero, the grid disappears! I looked into it in the editor, and realized this is due to the blend mode I used.
I chose that particular blend mode in an effort to allow for very bright grids, but unfortunately, it has had the added effect of making dark grids nearly impossible.
Well... I have a few ideas for a work-around, so hopefully I can do an update on this one.

I hope you can do that as I would love to do something with blood red and a black grid.

I would never have guessed you wou... (Okay, that joke is getting a little old, yes?)
(What else is in my crystal ball? Hmmm... let's see... I'm getting static, but I think it says you read Terry Brooks...) hehe

That was actually in my mind when I started this filter, and definitely one of the effects I'd like to add in an update.

When it comes to fiction, I'm almost entirely a sci-fi-kinda-guy... but would you believe I actually read books on science and math too?
(BTW... if you like Greg Bear, you might also like Gregory Benford, Charles Sheffield, & David Brin.)

I'm legally blind now so I can't read regular books and even e-books get hard on my eyes. I can handle reading posts because they are short and I can rest my eyes a lot. Reading a book a few sentences every 15 minutes or so just isn't much fun.
