Nice, very 70's or so looking, some classic looks there.

Very nice, Mike!
I'm especially fond of the slightly damaged edges of the tiles. However, when rendered at higher resolutions, the contours of the chipping do appear at bit too smooth, IMO. Other than that, sweet texture! ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Yup. Well deserved! ![]()
Hmmm... renders pretty fast here: 18-20 seconds on average. Seems speedy enough. ![]() It does seem a little unresponsive while interactively tweaking though. Maybe one could get rid of the blur/highpass? --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Thanks so much!
![]() Vladimir: It is too slow, and I think I should go back over it and do a speed boost. All I need to do is get out a fat marker and get rid of some of the less important noises ![]() ![]() Crapadilla: Thank you! Great point about the cracks, I might have a play with them. And my lord, you must have a nice PC!! |

Just teasing you guys a little, hehe. I'm having too much fun smoking through filters on my new dual xeon-quad-core rig... ![]() Anyways... I was also wondering why you 'compressed' the bump height information so tightly around the mid gray values. If you ditched the last brightness/contrast before the height map input and turned the Surface Height way down to values around 1, you'd basically get the same visual results and have a more usable bump map, no? Also, you might try ditching the blur on the height tree and introduce curve-profile controlled micro-bevels to the relevant tile components (a circular arc and very small bevel values should do well). Maybe that speeds things up a bit in the interactivity department. ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

great look!
my only question is, with the chipped edges (age), wouldnt you also have a bit of grime or something? or, is that already there? i really do like this. it's probably the best ceramic tile filter going. but the grime, man! where's the grime?! ![]() If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

LOL.... They are worn floors that just had Tylex used on them ![]() ![]() You want grime??? Where's Carl??? LMAO..... ![]() Again, great work on the grout and worn edges on this one!!! The best I've seen too!!! ![]() If you want more speed, I would suggest sacrificing the tile texture pattern (swirls).....kinda doesn't go with it in my opinion. A clean light texture might be more realistic. I would also suggest, if you want one with the texture "swirls", to develop them into something like a marble pattern..... Steve

Yeah, and it actually makes me want to do some high-detail glazed tiles as well. There are plenty of variations on the theme... ![]() ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

The tiles themselves look great, but the stone patterns could use a little work. Too swirly. You might try decreasing the distortion and increasing the roughness a little. Maybe blend a couple together with some noise as the mask.

Thanks jitspoe. They're meant to look like marble, not stone, so swirliness isn't too big a problem. Cheers on the crit, but for what it's worth, I used photo overlays to bump this texture up a little and for what I needed it, it worked perfectly.
