It looks kinda like one of those cellphone/PDA screens, or some Japanese handheld electronic game. Cool filter.

glad to be causing smiles among fellow forgers.
i actually made this several months ago then lost it during some file shuffling. sphinxmorpher's strange symbols filter reminded me of it, so i cobbled it back together the best i could. i've gotten better at the program since then, and this one turned out a little better... |

Nice one garbanzo. I think it would be nice if there was an option for adding separation between the buttons and the support structure - it could just be something like shininess, color, texture or relief. It's really nice just as it is though.

well it's meant to be a kind of lcd display, but perhaps a subtle drop shadow beneath the buttons/symbols would do well... the whole thing could use some polishing i think, it just doesn't have enough depth to it. i was kind of testing the waters, i thouht the idea might be to silly for people to enjoy, but there has been good response so i'll work on it some more. |

in that LCD Circuitry thing I made a while ago, there's a neat trick for making the display look more 3D'ish.. feel free to rip that one too

Personally I would rather have relief and a textural/color change and let rendering app handle the shadows.
Not at all, I plan on using it. The more work *you* do with the bump the happier I will be. ![]() @ronviers |

i'm a reasonable man, but i don't respond well to sarcasm. i made this filter long before you came to the forums. anyway neither of us were the first to use this little gimmick to make strange symbols. see uberzev's matrix2 filter here: http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...#nav_start i've decided i quite like this filter just the way it is, so i don't think i'll change it one bit. |

Ahh right! That matrix filter is pretty nice - almost same concept (didn't know about that package.. there's some interesting snippets in it, thanx). Btw. no sarcasm meant from this side.. sorry if it seemed like that..
