Sorry for the metal filter barrage.....FF is skipping over all my metal filters.....and even doing variants of my filters for their free filter promotional.....so I felt compelled to cough a few of them up in a shameless display

if you've downloaded and opened the freepack, you'll see it's all kochubey and vladimir. i'm not sure why. copyrights? i dont know.

Uhmmm... To the best of my knowledge, the only filter in the freepack that uses someone's else 'code' is my Diamond Plate (based on Crapadilla's Worn Metal Plate), which is exactly why we contacted him for permission. Also, we use his Swiss Cheese on the download page, so we requested a separate permission for that. The rest of the filters were made from scratch by me and Kochubey. Additionally, when I approved the collection, I 'expressly asked' Kochubey if there are any other permissions to obtain, and she answered no. What filter are you referring to? |

Sorry, it was just a momentary knee-jerk reaction
Kuchobey's Metallics filter was constructed differently by simply running it thru a couple blend modes, but I have the exact same effects covered in my metal filters. I also have much better metal effects.....like Metal, ExtremeMetal, CoolMetal, MetalShop, Chrome, Metallica, etc.....so I was wondering why I wasn't approached. I would have modded any one of them for you.....I would have even taken "StevieJ" out of the title  LOL....Steve

Steve -- we always prefer to use our own filters, but a realistic diamond plate is a pretty complex texture. Building it in-house would take significant time (which we didn't have), so we went for permission instead.

If I had to characterize myself, I would probably have to say that I've been the "Sheikh of Simplicity"
Lately, it seems like I'm the "Purveyor of the Low usage filter".....my Lows are outpacing my HUs.....and I hate the "L" word on any of my filters
I would much rather have a high ratio of HUs to total filters like you guys.....so I'm starting to change my evil ways.....and putting a little more thought into the "usability" of what I submit...... .....and yes, believe it or not, I am going to start submitting some good usable textures.....and yes, with no lighting!!!
That's not far from the truth.....I learned everything by studying filters from you, Dilla, Volde, CF, and Uber.....so thanx!!! Steve

hehe, well, all jokes aside, i dont care for some of the wilder color ones that much, though i have used a couple. but the metal, i taught you nothing there and learned way more from you than you did from me. silver surfer is pretty much a direct rip of one of your metals. and your mastery of glass far surpasses my own. it's just this preponderance of mixing in the whole rainbow with every filter that i shy away from a bit. but even on some of those...wow!

hehe, it's hard to say 'i dont really care for that one' without sounding offensive. but i know you know what i mean here
and some of your stuff has inspired my own (besides the surfer). without you there wouldnt be a glass menagerie iii, iv, v, and vi. oh, did i mention there's a iv, v, and vi? lol. sorry, had to throw a tease in here somewhere iii or iv does glass without a background. that one was tricky as hell! v is pretty much still rough as hell, and vi is still in my head If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
