Since Stevie just buried us all (yep, he's back ha-ha) on the comments page, I thought it would be fair enough to bump my latest updated filter til he does it again. smile:p It used to look more like it should be called "Dot Matrix Printer" really, which was alright, but now it's more in the "Tiler" zone. Is it better ? Eh, it's evolved and changed, better is for the rankings to determine. Anyways, since it got bumped off the front page an hour after it was updated/added I just wanted to let whomever know, that it exists, and it fits it's name 10% better now ha-ha. smile:D

Nah, I won't do that again......it was just a knee-jerk reaction to FF skipping over all my HU metal filters and doing variants of them in-house for the free promotional......

BTW.....Nice filter!!! smile:)

----Oh, you got zeroxed for the freebee pack huh, that's kinda lame if they are based on yours. But then, would ya really wanna waste a bunch of time tweaking them to what FF wanted, just to give them away with no HU points gained ? smile:p

----Thanks. smile:) I think it's the 2nd or 3rd one I ever made, so it's pretty low-tech, but I mess with it now and then.

----It kinda depends though. Lately texture filters seem to be all the rage, compared to picture altering filters, but I imagine that will flip-flop til the end of time eh. I like simple sometimes because it renders fast (which is extra satisfying ha-ha) and because you can still do quite a bit with three or 4 components really. Adding 15 more bits to a filter might just make it take 5X as long to render, and turn it into mush. It's a tough balance for everyone when designing a filter I'm sure.

It appears to be that way..... I would love to see the stats showing what type of filters are being used the most here......

Then I think I have some filters you would like smile;) smile:D

The dual and quad core computers slice thru the most complex filter like a hot knife thru butter. What are you running???

----I've about lost faith in the stats system. I've seen filters stay on the same pages for like 3 months now (and I'm not talking about HU first 6 page ones). You can't tell me that's possible with 4,000 filters (and even 3300 or so 3 months ago), it just doesn't work out mathematically (except maybe the first 6-8 pages of very popular filters). If they want any usefulness or credibility back, they should just poll usage stats on Thursdays, and update the filter library listings to reflect those usage numbers Friday and keep it simple and transparent.

----Just an old fashioned single core P4 2400, with 1gig of ram. Most filters take too long for me to deal with. Someday when I win the lottery I'll get a new 'puter, it's just not in my non-existant budget currently eh.

I submitted a small update to this filter tonight, it has 2 new modes, and below are presets #1 and #2 to show those 2 new modes. It also still does everything it used to, it is 100% backwards compatible with the previous versions, ie = no *changes* have been made, only additions have been well, added. smile:D

----Thanks, and yeah, it's not looking so much like it's name anymore, but it's kinda cool in it's own way, and hopefully looks a little less generic-pixel-like these days. smile:D
