We're in the business of visual aesthetics here - what pleases the eye, is not useless.. smile:D sometimes people in here focus too much on usability in terms of "does this makes sense as a texture in some other rendering context?"

but actually variation 1 reminds me of some tightly weaved fine tablecloth (you know these silky ones) - maybe the filter could evovle in this direction..

I was thinking that variation 5 looked a bit like a brocade fabric and was thinking I might see where I could go with that. You're right about variation 1. I'll have to see where I can go with that one too. What I was liking about the main preset was the texture. you can't see it here, but in the program you can and it's actually nice. The balls are too, but I still like the name ugly as it suits it in my eyes. smile:D
