The presets really don't mean anything on this filter since each color image is different. I would suggest going back and forth to the original image to verify optimal tone depth and detail. These settings are a good general place to start with this filter.....click to enlarge.....

Thanks Craig.....as someone who also appreciates B&W, I'm really glad that you like it!!! smile:) smile:) smile:)

I really tried to do these B&W filters so that users can properly "de-mud", get full tone range, and full detail from any type of color image in B&W conversion......

This filter and the "12RGB-Modes" filter are purely RGB channel filtration.....and the "B&W" filter uses all channels and desaturation methods for conversion......

Since color images vary so much.....the best way to use these is to keep comparing the original as you zero in on what you want.....

yes, i think you and i work in a similar fashion. we're mostly about how things look and feel when we work, while dilla, uber and some others tend to be more technical guys, which doesnt mean their stuff is worse, by any means, but i think it means they tend to produce more texture types. and whereas i could certainly use a better understanding of the technical aspects, it's secondary to me. i tend to produce way more effect filters as a result and not so many texture types.

you could almost draw a line between most of the regular authors here. you, me, jffe, sheri, ahimsa, and some others, tend to emphasize in one direction or manner of working, while uber, byRo, dilla, ronviers and some others tend to work more along technical lines. it's an interesting distinction.

and yes, i do appreciate black and whites, and these last few of yours are really quite good. have you tried mixing in some high pass with these?
