Kraellin Kraellin Posts: 12749 Filters: 99	very cool. now, why did they kill off the first doctor of the new series? kinda liked that guy. this guy is good, too, but never quite understood why they offed the first guy after only one season. contract disputes? ScaryKitty This is as Normal as I get... Posts: 150 Filters: 40	now, why did they kill off the first doctor of the new series? Actually, it was the actor's choice. There are conflicting reports on the reasons: some people said that he found the schedule too heavy (most British series are only 6 episodes long, often 1/2 hour, whereas Doctor Who is 13 hours, and most BBC actors also do stage). Another rumour is that he didn't want to be typecast. I don't know which explanation (if either) is true. I LOVED Chris Eccleston; it took me a while to warm up to David Tennant, but he has grown on me, not unlike a fungus. He's right up there with Eccleston and Tom Baker in my book now. Besides, he was in the BEST Doctor Who episode EVAH: "Blink." (My sig is from that episode.) "Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Kraellin Kraellin Posts: 12749 Filters: 99	well, i think i've seen the first guy in some other shows, so perhaps he started getting other offers and like you say, didnt want to get typecast. dunno. but david seems to be it now and yes, i've fully accepted him as 'the doctor' now also. i was having more trouble accepting 'rose' than the new doctor. and again, dont know why she left. lol. i wonder if it's a british actor thing to get a successful show and then leave it or what? If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up! Craig
