A lot of people but I don't know the exact number, if you didn't know you can get 2 extension on your trial by contacting FF each time you 30 is up [ 90 days total ] and it varies drasticly how long a filter can take to go hu but it is quite possible to get your 3 hu's - by looking at the popular filters section [ up to page 22 or 23 are Hu's ] you might get an idea of the filters people will use [ though there is some great filters that don't go HU smile:| ], as a generalization - fast render, descriptive control [ not too many of them, 6 to 10 if possible ], useful filters not like green blob, textures that are photo realistic and different [ for example there are many rock and wood filters so it would have to be special to get hu's on with one ], good photo effect filters, FF is saturated with kaliedescope patterns again it would have to be special for Hu.......... long answer to a simple question LOL hope there is something in there that helps smile:)

No that's great. Long answers usually provide more information. smile;) I wasn't aware of the extension possibilities and that is nice. It seemed a bit unlikely that you could get that number of Hu's in a span of a month unless you were just godly at it to start. Was it only 3 that was needed? I thought I read 7 somewhere?

as i recall, there were about 316 free copies given out in the beta test days. after that, i've no idea. jffe and steve have both given away freebies to various users here and we've seen several get freebies on HU's, but i dont know if that's a drop in the bucket or the full gamut. i do know that FF Inc. has been pretty generous with their program of HU and freebies.

3 for Pro FF and you'll need another 5 to get lifetime update to all future versions a total of 8. Getting 3 is very obtainable and as Craig said FF is pretty generous smile:)

Sweet, seems like a cool company. It makes me chuckle, all my filters get accepted right around midnight every day, seems like someone else thinks night time is the right time.

How many of the popular filters do you think were simply coveted by people rendering out the filters and reselling them as textures? I saw that thread about it when the Eula changed, I just wasn't sure how long ago that was. I noticed even kindof lousy looking brick and concrete textures were pretty popular and wasn't sure if that might be the reason.

Have you guys noticed how FF filters work differently than Photoshop distort filters? It seemed like while Photoshop's distort filters have an active selection override the canvas aspect ratio, the FF filters still use the aspect ratio to calculate the patterns or distortions. Is there a way to stop that?

Only guessing, it's probly small amount as the effect filter go HU just as much - not everyone allows FF to gather stats and people alter filters slightly to suit there needs and then it saves them under there own names so no user stats [ it pays to make filter work properly and comprehensivly to the effect or texture your trying to acheive so people don't want to fiddle with it ] have look at some of the pros work such as Crapadilla, Uberzev, ThreeDee, Sphinxs to see well constructed/controlled to see filter that work beautifully

I don't know the tec stuff [ just a simple artist smile;) ] if no one answer you here [ craig would probly knows ] you can put the question in the forum under either general discussion or creating filter where people that way inclined read and I'm sure some one would help smile:)
