Will see...

Planned and partially started long time ago, but in the center of my attention only now.

Not a "lamellar", actually. It's "scale armour". "Lamellar" filter temporary is in progress and will be inserted in this one or as standalone filter very soon - just need to fix and check final renders.

Have also a lot of modifications. After they be more stable I'll update the filter with new mods.

Idea for this type of filters is wide and simple - all armours types.

So, everyone interested - take a notice or/and take a part! smile;)

Modifications:

Scale Armour. Layers & Dots

Scale Armour. Skin Scales

Thanks, Dilla! smile;)

constantin,

i know there are different types of scale armor, but the kind i'm most familiar with overlaps not only top to bottom but side to side, as well. any chance of doing one like that?

here's a couple of links to show what i mean: http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/A...eArmor.htm and http://valhallaarmoury.com/Helms___Armor.html
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I've seen the links (thanks for them, they're useful). Yes. Such types of armours, forms, materials, patterns and other attributes like on those images are possible and planned.

Here's a work preview of the Lamellar i'm working now ("side to side" if i've understood You properly):

Looks good! You could make a dedicated "Dragon Scales" spin-off perhaps? smile:)

apparently, i never answered you, constantin. dont know how i missed this. those are EXCELLENT pics! and to answer, i think i meant on the side to side, having one on top, one on bottom, next on top again, then bottom and an so on. but, the one you posted works, too smile:)

Wow: those displacement renders look great! What 3d software are you using, Constantin?

D'U mean real animal or fantasy creatures? Anyway, I think, that "Snake Scales" and "Scale Armour's" update will be enough functional to create both variants. Have also small "Frog Skins" collection smile;)

Well, maybe both in one filter. Dragons, reptiles, amphibians, fish, ... smile:)
