I'm sorry to send you back to the drawing board... but there's a slight error in the gradient... check the attached filter (or is that the reason it's called a cricle ).

Its even simpler now

I finnaly realized I didnt need to alter the default gradient colors to get it to work just plugging them in as is works great

The trick to achieving accuracy is to blend the 2 gradients and invert the result
The inverted blend goes into the red channel the 90% gradient green and the 0% gradient blue
Works like a charm

Ive been really swamped and what little time Ive played with FF has been from a by prodocut of this snippet -i found a bunch of other techniques using it

Havnt benchmarked them but Knowing Uber your probably right--this is not meant to trump or replace him just an alternate method for creating it

for instance on my even easier tile component count is about the same as his but I agree his is probably faster but for us not as gifted mentally --lets face it I cant hold a candle to him-- my method is simpler to remember

In fact Ive used his method for tileing to power some of my filters because in those instances his method was supperior.

His method is far more ingenious then mine --in fact I would have never figured out this mehtod without his method first being evolved

The question often for me is not how fast it is but do I understand the mechanics and can I reproduce and tweak them

for example if he chose to Im sure he could reproduce any of my filters with twice the speed. I mainly just share theese insights to make it easier for the less mentaly fortunate amongst us like my self
