Hey, 5-in-a-row smile:) You've got some really nice "looks" in this filter..... smile8)

The only thing that I would suggest is differencing out the tile lines from being in the center emblem..... smile:)

yup, i'm with steve; bump out the crosshairs somehow. in fact, if you manage it, let me know how you did it, since i've run into this too.

If the "size" slider is giving you trouble you should take a look and see if you are using a frame component. If you manage to remove the frame, things should fix right up.

Nice work!

As you can see deciding which controls to keep and which to leave out is one of the
hardest parts. ha ha.
at least 90 percent of all sensation is texture, even beyond the visual, with elements of noise, tone, gradients, interval and degree.

Still slow as hell with 3 broken legs, but 1) much better looking in the middle now, and 2) a very stylish/cool filter anyways. smile:)

Good lord mate, for your OWN sake, make sure you put a little sense into the order of things: if you untangled this mess, I bet you could find a lot of redundant bits that could be removed to speed things up.

New Version online. Default preset changed. Component layout rearranged & mega-labeled.

StevieJ, your suggestions are always welcome & really a help in improving this filter. Thanks.

infiniview, these -are- the controls I reduced it to.

CFandM, Kraellin, jffe, thanks for still watching this power-snail-filter.

KGtheway2B, especially for you I rearranged the filter layout in the editor.
Groups are now spread out & repositioned where they produce a minimum of line-tangles. (It's slightly easier now to trace one down through the jungle...) Even more labels added, plus the huge letters for navigation when zooming out. It won't get significantly better, because this is a monster of complexity.
Every logic group/row works on one part/element of the filter & every sub-result influences one or more other elements.
After studying lots of filters, the help-file, all wikis & tons of forum contributions;
after more than 5 month of development, optimization & testing over & over it will be hard to find a component that is unnecessary or a group that processes inefficiently.
If there are e.g. two branches that seem to do the same, then it's because the result renders faster this way.
If there are 8 components used to get a sub-result instead of 2, it's because it renders faster this way.
If a weird workaround is constructed, ... you get the point.

If you are (or anyone else out there is) pro enough to find a way to give it a boost while maintaining 100% identical results, let me know...

Preset Pack 1
--------------------

Since clone filters with just new presets are not accepted, we have to do a little workaround, but don't worry - it's only a bit copy & paste.

- Instructions -
(step by step help on how to integrate "Preset Pack 1" in the Collector's Tiles - filter.)

1] Right-click on the link at the bottom & <Save Target as...> on your drive. This is -not- a fully functional filter, just preset data!
2] Open your Windows Explorer & navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\ "your_user_name" \Application Data\Filter Forge\My Presets
If there exists no file named "Library_6843.xml" (in which the user-presets for Collector's Tiles are stored), start Filter Forge, select Collector's Tiles & <Add Preset> to create this file.

3] If there -is- already a "Library_6843.xml", then locate your downloaded file, right-click it, <Open with> / <Choose Program...>, select Notepad.
4] Copy all content now. ( [CTRL-A], [CTRL-C] )
5] Back in the Explorer in the "My Presets" directory, right-click the "Library_6843.xml", <Open with> Notepad.
6] <File> / <Save as...> with "copy of" prefix before the old filename. (Only for backup purposes.)
7] Scroll to the end. Position your cursor directly before "</MyPresets>", use [CTRL-V] to paste the new presets there.
8] Save the file [CTRL-S].

Restart Filter Forge & see the 20 new presets of Collector's Tiles.
