Quick get some marshmallows.
Well the stones seem a little flat.

cut down your contrast or brightness levels. it's basically clipping on the height map. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

A few more lumpy burning coals would add to the realism

That is "on the list", as well as fixing so you can render multiple fires on the same image using size param. (Moving from frame to voldemorts circle-snippet for the fire and ground too... - I never expected the Spanish inquisition

To me the rocks and coals are separate entities and need to be tied together - an inner glow to the rocks or the rocks inner edges being ragged by the coals [ or both ] - here is a quick example of the inner glow interaction with the rocks which also adds to the rocks three dimensionality

Thanks, nice ida to build the glow as a separate image and then just blend it in.

Yupp, works like a charm, thanks again.
When playing with FF you suddenly learn new ideas and new ways to accomplish tasks.
This was one of those moments, I tried to blend the glow onto the stones before they were composited
together with the rest in the multiblend, your solution was much more elegant!

Threshold component is a very handy component, for example knock out the black to transparent and you may not need the Set Alpha components
