I think this one as potential for ep, but you need to get rid of the vertical streaks, it makes it look like cloth...

Awesome toast, but why is this a photo filter (as opposed to a texture)

Just get rid of the image component. Or, even better, make an option to "burn in" the image.

actually, the streaks add to the realism. in most toasters you have heating elements set vertically an inch or two apart and the bread is set down within those elements. as the bread toasts, those places where the elements are are slightly hotter, thus toasting the bread a little bit more and making that area a little bit darker. so, the streaks work for me smile:)

i think it's an effect filter because he/she wanted the transparency showing and not a background image, thus you have to include the image component to do that, ergo, effect filter rather than texture.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I actually had a piece of toast sitting next to me while I was making this one. Kraelin's right about the streaking in the toast, and the reason why. But I could add controls to the streaking to appease everyone, maybe I've got a bad toaster.

I initially made it as an effect to use on text layers in Photoshop to make them look like toast, crust and all. I thought if I could make a convincing bread shape in filter forge, I might as well submit this. smile:)

For some reason, when I select the seamless option with no bread generator or burn holes, all I get is a complete alpha texture? Is it supposed to be like this or am I doing something phenomenally thick?
