Wow. Very impressive. The default setting would be impressive enough, but even the "kinks" in the flame in the alternative settings are perfect. Bravo!

Just to be contrary, I recreated this with entirely V1 components (in V2 admittedly, but it'd be the same in V1).
The HDR colours make things a tad simpler, but they're by no means integral to the effect. The biggest challenge was getting the shape right without the Polygon component, which is impossible to get exactly the same not that I actually spent much time on it. |

You probably made that in the same amount of time as I did mine. You're right, the HDR doesn't make it a whole lot nicer, but I think my V2 flame looks a tad more "glowy". Honestly, I was not at all expecting an EP from this. Yeah, it's cool to animate it with the flicker slider, and yeah it's fast (otherwise I wouldn't have had the patience to submit it), but really its not all that amazing. But if you guys like it, then what the hell, you're welcome. |

This is a fantastic flame, but is there a way to get it to exist over alpha? I tried simply changing the background to alpha, but it looses all color. The reason I ask is so I can see about using this as an alpha texture withing a production to get a great candle flame

Bid, if you're still interested (or anyone else is), I think I've found a way to do just that using one of the new math components (LERP). It sort of dawned upon me just now, and I submitted the update, which should be available tomorrow. |
