Note, even under Beta 2.005, this technique remains valid. I used this to make my own 'Amulet' filter execute about 30% faster (will be released soon after I add on some stuff ). By comparison, doing this using the 'Rotate' component introduced in 2.005 was actually a shade slower than the bomber version, had some issues due to parts of the image being duplicated at the corners that the bomber didn't, and at the same time turned the filter into a non-seamless smile:evil: So I'll stick with the bombers.

I considered asking to have this filter/snippet removed when stage 3 was released, but also noticed that it's sometimes faster than the rotate component.

Thanks for pointing that out, Miavir.

When you rotate the image, the picture remains seamless.

I have just found this very simple snippet and think that it may be useful for what 3dsBlend has told, as many filters may not be able to use seamless tiling because they have the Rotate component that is not compatible

so using this may make it seamless although you can not use any other non-seamless components Examples of non-seamless components include Scale, Rotate, Free Gradient, Free Ellipse, Free Polygon and Free Rectangle.

Even 10 years, is still useful in FF9

And Rotate is not the only thing that breaks the seamless tiling, also Scale component does it, BUT you could also use this same thing to probably use the size in some limited way

AND this idea can ALSO be used additionally for the following things using also bomber if wanted to use just ONE only element

1 - Offset X and Y with Bomber

2 - Scale Size with bomber to avoid repeating of the source image

3 - Tint Color and Tint amount of just one only element using bomber

4 - Squash with bomber

Each of these can be used alone and just one of them when needed

Here is the modified filter
