Thank You for downloading Crack Remover. I hope you find it useful.
This filter is mainly useful for the restoration of damaged photographs. It will remove dust scratches cracks hairs and all other small marks. It is very easy to use. In Photoshop make a duplicate of the image on a new layer. Open FilterForge and decide if the picture has mainly light or dark marks to remove and set the checkbox accordingly. In most cases the Amount slider can be left at 100%. Once the filter has done its job then Apply the results. Back in Photoshop a ‘Hide All’ mask may be added so that the results may be applied just where it is needed. This filter may be run more than once if the marks are particularly bad. Or it may be run once for the dark marks and again for the light marks. (It is generally better to remove the dark marks first) In the example pictures I used an image from the Retouch Pro archives http://www.retouchpro.com/archive/sho.../photo/387 This is a very badly creased image with white marks to remove The second picture is the result of running Crack Remover once. The third picture is the result of running Crack Remover twice; I added a mask to mask the results from the eyes and mouth, which is shown in the layers palette. Ken. ![]() |
