I'm about to write a tutorial for this filter
but until then here are a few random examples: Original: ![]() Seam: ![]() Tiling: ![]() Seam: ![]() Tiling: ![]() Seam: ![]() Tiling: ![]() It's no substitution for manual retouching but can give you a head start. |

This one works extremely well for certain kind of tilings where other approaches works less good. Very nice filter.

ok, i dont get it. you seem to be doing the seamless on internal edges (which is usually called 'stitching', not 'seamless'). where are the four images coming from that need this stitching? are you putting those together in photoshop? or am i missing something here (which is probably the case. lol)? or does the filter make four copies of an imported image and then somehow make them seamless? cause if it's the latter, i'm not having any luck/skill in getting this to work.

The original image is offset so the edges go to
the center where they're more apparent. Take the first image: that is a photo I took. The filter offsets it (also does fade correction) so the seams are obvious, that's the second picture. The next step is laying over the original image to cover up the seams, using a mask created one way or another. (Third pic.) Is that what you wanted to know? I hope I can whip up the tutorial next week because yeah, the controls are kinda many and not very straightforward... ![]() EDIT: Clarification. |

hi zoltan,
i think i understand your explanation, but in practice when i use a square image, the offsets get pushed to the four corners, so there's actually 5 images, not 4 like you're showing above. try it on the life preserver. i think it shows that way there, too. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Hmmm I'm not sure what's going on...
Seam preview (Display = 5): ![]() Seamless render (Display = 1): ![]() Tiling preview (Display = 4): ![]() Any of these look similar what you have? Oh btw I'm still on FF2, haven't yet had the time to install v3. |

the second one is very similar to what i was getting, four images in the corners and one strong one in the center.

Alright then, that's how it's supposed to work.
![]() All the "Tiling" images above are like that only it's harder to distinguish the two layers. (Which is kind of the point. ![]() Could you post the image you tried? |

Well, that's not an ideal test image because it's already
seamlessly tiling and a big part of the picture has no features at all. Try the filter on images which you actually want to use as tiling textures. |

I was searching for this filter and finally found it, but have seen that all the image that Zoltan Erdokovy have put are now missing and not available, so I will try to see how this filter works and how to use it

I just discovered this filter, and the results for the photos posted in your article are stunning! I am trying to figure out how to make a seamless repeating pattern out of a simple black form, but I haven't been able to get it quite right. Parts of the original shape in the middle fade out, as do different parts in the corner pieces.
Is it possible at all to get the result (sharp and accurate repetitions of one shape in the middle) I am looking for with this filter? ![]() |

You are welcome Eve...Like this type of filter there are several that do the same thing but they all have a different approach...If one does not work the way you need try a different one..
