Hello,

I have seen and tried your filter in many photos but it seems that it can only be used in very simple and plain colors and designs as it accepts very little detail.

I like much the effect given when there is a transparent background, as shown in your good example of the "filter forge" name in colors, but I am sorry that I do not like what the filter does if there is NO transparent areas like in your other 3 examples.

Probably I do not understand how to use and optimize the input base image so you would get the most out of it and I am loosing because of this.

I think that you are trying to simulate the stained glass in the most realistic way, and this is very good, and understand it, but this could also be a problem, as for the input must be specially designed to get the result with the limitations of the real stained glass.

Here is a link to a google images search showing many very real and artistically designed stained glass artworks.

I have done here one example of the many I have done, but it seems that is much better to make a very plain design than using a photo as base, but I think that is not the way to do it.

Could you please explain how to get the most out of what seems to be a beautiful filter ?

Thanks

Umm... smile:dead:
Yeah, this filter (in this version) has some limitations.
Detail is removed by median component. But if you wanted more smooth result, whole shape would be broken.
And, it decides boundary (i.e. metal frame) by hue difference with "Hue Dividing Number" control.
Because of these reasons, input image must be specially designed as you said.

This mean is...
1. stained glass is more smooth
2. to put in the shadings to glass
3. divided cells are more large
4. glass is more shiny and bright
5. separation is irrelevant to color
or another? smile:?:

It is quite a difficult for me to create border without selection or transparency.
Use hue? saturation? brightness? color difference? or, these combination?
In which color space?
Now I trying to solve this problem, but if you have any advice, please give me.
Thanks.
