Some filters are great for fonts (type face), others are not. If you have found some interesting combinations you would like to share this is a thread to post them in.
It does help your filters to let others know how to use them. Font application is one way some filters shine. For beginners in graphics: If your not familiar enough with your paint program to display your font combinations you'll need to know how to quickly remove the white area surrounding the image once filter forge is applied. This thread does not teach how to do that however there are tutorials that can be found on the Internet. Ulead PhotoImpact and CS users should be able to 'erase' that part of the layer with ease. PSP users have their own method to quickly handle this problem. For beginners in graphics: If you've never layerd filters before it takes awhile to get an 'eye' for what goes well with what. The only way to get an 'eye for it' is to start layering filters. Try to use presets only- list the preset to the best of your knowledge (you can pull up Notepad and keep track of that while making the image). List the filter name and the filter artist. Since this is the User Gallery it is a perfect place to showcase the filters on fonts. Calling all Filter Forge users that also happen to make graphics as well as filters. Application use and filters go hand in hand. And let the font fashion show begin. I'll start it off with a few... font color #C5CAD8 font type Britannic Bold 1) Technical Drawing ~Northern Star Preset 10 2) Metallic Emboss ~Persidio Preset 5 3) Technical Drawing ~Northern Star Preset 10 4) Condensation ~Persidio Preset 3 Basic Drop Shadow in paint program ~Jean ![]() |

It also works for images..Taking a filter and running through twice or even a couple of times...Love that metallic and emboss..Reminds of when I first used "Typestyler"

Carl that is a great tip for beginners!~ Your awesome. And also reminding lurkers that it does matter in what order the fitlers are applied (for images or font type). TY on the compliment CFandM~ ![]() For the below image: My Industrial Paint Powder Coat (on the way to the Gallery- then give a day for the preset upgrade to hit--->they are already done and ready to upgrade... this filter uses the upgraded preset), my Metallic Emboss, and Ron Viers Lab Enhance (in that order). Sorry about that I didn't save these two combinations in a text file when I made them. But the above directions should put someone in the ballpark of how to put one together. Add basic paint program drop shadow. Jean P.S. Click on the images to see them up close. ![]() |
