Use OPEN SELECTION to mask protect any result of any filter you use!

I have just discovered something that is amazing for me and I did not know in all these years

Before you use any filter If you use File --> Open Selection and import a black and white image as selection it will work with any filter that you may use from now on and it will be used to mask and protect the result of the filter

Please, be aware that the selection must be a black and white file and with the same size in pixels as the image you have already open as main source

So for example if you have this source image loaded with
Go to Menu and use File --> Open Image



Then go to Menu and use File --> Open Selection so then you use this other image as the mask to protect



Now start to test any filter you may want and the result of the filter will ONLY appear and be shown just on the WHITE areas of the selection loaded, so this way for example using Rollstar filter by Ramlyn you get this



So to protect and mask any part of the original source image it must be covered in BLACK so the filter will not show through this part, and so only the filter result will only appear on WHITE parts of the selection loaded

So if you do not have any black and white file to use as a selection, you can do it yourself in any graphic software. So this way all that you may paint black it will be protected, and anything you paint white you reveal what is want to show from filter forge result.

I have tried this above with many filters and it works right, but I can´t test all of the filters, so as I said that it will work with any filter, it may be of course depend of what filters you may use, and there may be some filters that will not work with the selection and not work this way
