As per what is probably typical/usual, I was going back to update an old filter, and went overboard, and basically rewired half of it, and thusly, there must now be a sequel if anything ha-ha.

Thanks for looking. smile:) I'm still trying to keep the color/hue from getting so washed out, (as it is in the example pics above). Blur & lighting tends to do that it seems, and balancing it back with gamma and saturation, well, that's a tricky balance at best. If I can get the color halfway corrected it should be up next week, if not, it may never see the light of day, and I'll just modify the original filter some and update it instead.

----Well, as in real life, tis often easier to do things, than to undo them, so to speak. I've got another filter "Tone Surgeon", in the works, that is having the same probs really. I have some specific looks I'm after, but to achieve them, I am getting *artifacts* that I do not wish to have. I'm looking at both filters in a more "damage control" kind of way at this point, they cannot be made to do exactly what I want, (or at least, I cannot accomplish it just yet), but if they can be made to get the idea across, with minimal garbage/extra pixels/etc., then that will have to do for now.

You probably already know this, but check the image for depleted areas because your filter may be good....

The rose pic has a depleted area on one of the front petals.....is that where you are seeing the problems???

It's not always in the same place, so it's just a symptom of a control problem. Which leads to range limiting everything to death, and a filter than has 2 presets if that ha-ha. I'm still working on it though. I usually just post some samples at the 2/3-3/4 of the way done, to get some feedback, or see if anyone even cares enough to post anything, and go from there ya know. I've got a few filters in the works, kind of derivatives of Post Modern Posterize and Intonation, and slowly they are taking on their own lives, like this one, it just takes time and experimentation, you know how it goes.

Alright, I finished this one. It's a total rebuild inside. The output effects are very very similar, but much more detailed really. If you liked FSP at all, you will like FSP 2 twice as much. Some final examples below, just the first 3 presets. Submitted 05-16-2007.

It's definitely different than the 1st FSP filter, check it out if ya get a chance, it has more varieties of looks to it, which while not saying all that much, I still say it's a good improvement over the other one/way of doing it.

you've got some good softness going there on the flower and then some rough hardness as contrast. interesting combo. and i really like that particular soft look. it's different from most i've seen.

----Well, hopefully it's 2% different from everyone else's, I rebuilt FSP 2 almost from scratch, with new internal modules & wiring, it's not just FSP 1 with changes, it's way different at least internally.
