Looking good! Oh yes, I've been meaning to ask you StevieJ, I notice that you tend to put those interesting smilies above the samples you show, do they represent or indicate anything in particular ^_-?

Just looking at this filter, I suddenly realized that the effect reminded special effect that is being used in an anime I'm currently watching called Denno Coil -- whenever there's ever a ripple or missing data in the virtual world (well, it combines with the real world but they need glasses to see it... err, long story), an effect similar to this takes place! I'd glad that you made a filter like this and it might be interesting to use on stuff in Second Life, excellent job as always StevieJ ^_^

Thanx Zeph smile:) Yeah, it's like a mother board pattern.....it's the circuitry profile from the block noise component. I didn't think I'd like it, but actuall fell in love with it a while back....interesting to contrast with organic images smile:)

Hi Zephos~

I like the way Steve uses them. The reason I use them with my examples is this:

When loading the preview images back to back--------> the board doesn't like it and takes the second and third images as some kind of spam attack. Because I will copy and paste 'Click to view larger image~'. And when I try to load the image it won't let me and will give me an error message. If I use a smilie then the board accepts that I've written something or given activity and accepts the multiple posting for the images.

And obviously not spamming, LOL,,, just trying to load the sample images back to back. But the message board doesn't like it. smile:D So I give it smilies to make it happy-------> works like a charm.

I've seen your website and your use of Anime' is stunning and lovely. Absolutely a big fan of your art!~

Hi Steve~ Big fan of your filter art---------> This one is looking good!~ Nice combination you have for this glass and can't wait to see more!

No, FF has it set up so that you can't post a pic without anything else.....so I plop a smilie in there to just to satisfy that requirement.....but would rather just post continuous pics. I've seen others post continuous pics without anything else.....but I haven't learned how to do it yet smile:)

That's probably the reason why FF has done it this way......

Me too.....it's the quickest way to get around it and move on to posting your next pic.....

steve,

the circuitry effect is kinda cool in glass. i like the tinyness of it. that sort of intricate look it imparts.

and here's a thought on that style, it looks like you're doing an overlay sort of effect, which is fine. but, what if you actually warped the image with the effect, so that the effect becomes part of the object in the image rather than an overlay to it. and this isnt a comment on the filter itself, just a thought i had while looking at the pics for doing another variation.

Way ahead of ya smile:) I'm just trying to polish off all the overlay effects first.....have quite a few left to do smile:) Then I'm going to start polishing up all my 3D relief glass.....and your suggestion is part of all that....along with 3D crystal, blown, tile patterns, frames, etc.....alot to do.....wish I could just snap my fingers and have them all instantaneously ready for submission smile:) The other "slowness" problem comes from me being too detail-oriented and anal about everything.....making it consume more time than it should smile:)

As I mentioned, I'm also trying to get a better and controllable bubble depth in my blown glass.....which has been challenging, but think I've just about got it.....

And thanx for posting the links to those "CorporateCrystalGift" examples.....very useful in making comparisons and fine tuning to get it more realistic..... smile:)

Where are you with the grads and curves?

steve,

well, i just looked at the submitted version. looks like you changed something there. or maybe not. my original comment may be off a bit. i do see some of the effect IN the flower.

well, i'm not doing a lot in FF at the moment. i'm re-studying photo restoration with a new eye. so, not much going on right now with FF. i still play a bit and still studying a bit. and i'm also using FF on photo pieces more than i'm creating filters at the moment. so, you may not see a lot our of me on filter creation for a while. but i do come here every day if only to look at other's works.

Well Kraellin it's a joy to have you around. Filter break sounds like a great a idea. It's fun to work with photos. And you have tons of filters to play with.

You give your fitlers plenty of luvin' care! And the examples are stunning. Thanks for the compliments~ Very sweet~ smile:fairy: Our filters are well loved now doubt. LOL

Took some time to spend outside, then gave the computer to my daughter for her games, also caught up with old graphics friends today. It's like I told Lynn, I type fast enough to jump back and forth between forums. Starting a new filter tonight or in the morning.

Well it's done~! But... there is another filter I want to make that goes with it. They will be a set and in the Patterns category. I should have sneak peeks up sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening. The filter name starts with an 'M'. LOL ((In fact both will start with 'M'.))

Now I know that'll drive ya' crazy. hehe

Stevie, you have so many great glass filters now, that I just had to use one on my avatar.
It is my Renderosity avatar I have altered it a little with one of your filters. Don't remember which one, you have so many.

Now I have to ask you. Do you use these for anything special, or is it the pure joy creating filters that drives you?

Yes, I've been using them in my fine art digital work.....creating cybachrome prints from them.....the depth and richness is just unbelievable.....still amazed by it.....but the process itself costs $$$$ and also proportional to file size.... which is usually very large to make large quality prints. I recently sold one using my "RippledArtGlass" filter on an arrangement of bottles. I Wish that I could show off some finished works, but my clients wouldn't buy them if seen on the internet....

I recently gave up most photo processes for digital.....because the resolutions of digital are now meeting and surpassing that of film.....more efficient....much less costly.....and much less time consuming.....

I also do fine art sculture combining metal, glass, and translucent minerals.....using kilns, welders, saws, all lapidary equip, soldering irons, ect.....

And yes, I also enjoy making filters almost as much as using them smile:)

I love your work on Renderosity!!! smile:)

there's the link, jean. i do photo restorations, retouching and photoart... mostly all on that site. and because most of the work i do there is copyrighted by others, i dont post those images here.

i'm also a moderator there. it was the owner of that site that turned me and a few others, onto FF a year ago smile:)

Craig, I think that FF should pay you to be a moderater here smile;) smile:) .....you are actually quite good at it.....and it seems like that's what you have been doing all along smile:) I think some backpay is in order here smile;) smile:D LOL....

Seriously, I'd cut you a check if I were running the show.....you are definitely an unsung asset to all of this by making it such an inviting place to be.....and I have certainly appreciated it!!! smile:) smile:) smile:)

*stands in line with his hand held out* sounds good to me smile:D oh, vla-aad!

thanks, steve. well, i'm still very much the apprentice when it comes to graphics. i only recently got pscs2 and even more recently upgraded to cs3 (for $5.95, the cost of shipping). and have barely even opened the thing. i mostly use psp xi and FF. and like jean, i'm a bit of a plugin/filter nut.

and as for moderating, that basically boils down to courtesy and organizing, for the most part. though, you also need a big mallet every once in a while smile;)

Surprisingly, Vlad has only had to "intervene" here on one occasion....back along when someone was trying to "attack" Infiniview's character for some unknown reason....

Great that those things hardly ever happen here!!! smile:)
