Okay... my brain is scattered but I have been playing with a new filter. Alien Vision is a correction filter of sorts with a surreal perspective. Obviously I'm still playing with it... thought I'd show it to friends because this place feels like family. ((Just bear in mind that I'm a bit scattered creatively)). ((Temporary thing)). This filter is for photos... so will use a photo of myself ... don't have to worry about model permissions, LOL. Photo Before... Questions: Should I scratch it because it's a correction/surreal photo type filter? Don't we have a kazillion? Also I've been playing with tints... Should I add a tint option? I various tint options .. ripped them off. Or should I turn it gradient with a narrow view with black on the edges? Sorry guys/gals/friends... really would like some advice on this one~ ((still getting back in the swings of things)) Jean aka Persidio  |

I kinda like the effect, but i would not call it "alien vision". For me alien vision would probably come across like the heat mapping vision thing that the predator had in those movies.
Which might make for an interesting filter in itself 
is that you in the pic? (I question that simply due to the name placement on the image) Rawn |

Hi Rawn...
Orginally it had a heat mapping effect... Should I take it back to that? Not sure what you mean by placement on the image. But that is me. Me at 42,,, I'm 44. I cropped it out of the larger photo. Truth be known.. I'm sitting on a large fence pole.. and .. just looks funny,,, so I cropped it off. ((censored, LOL)) My hair is dyed in this pic... Placement... ?? Anyway.. should I go back to the heat mapping? I know we don't normally use pics of ourselves in the tester pics.. just felt like testing limits today.. and beating myself up with filters... ((don't ask why, LOL)). http://persidio.net/FF/filters.htm ((hair is normally wrapped up in back under itself in a pony tail)) Background is my pic with filters. (((same shirt))) You know what.. By "placement on the image" I meant the text was over you, and it didnt look much like a watermark, so i assumed it might be a nametag
I promise i will make no comments about the fence post (though I may not be able to control some snickers due to the fact you felt it needed censoring) LOL I think the heat vision would be great (though we can already tell you are hot LOL) (no worries, not a flirt, I am happily married, i just couldnt resist the comment )

(though, that's not usually my style ). and i'd never have believed that a shot at 42. looks more like 32.
it looks like a curves filter. and as for what you're going to do with it, well, that's pretty much up to you. what do you want it to do? or, what are you trying to do with it? what's the effect you're trying to create? doing a little pole dancing were you?  If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Hi Rawn... okay, gotcha~ Some quick text (you caught me). LOL The fence post (I look impalled (sp?).. it's bad... bad photo really). Was windy and had been out all day. However those are the photos we tend to want to put filters on right? Okay... well I have my computer back.. (Daily Log Sector 5... time to go see if I can get my Alien Vision back...) ((Nutty today))

Well see normally I know exactly what I want----> scattered brains today. Not sure really... I think I'm going back to a heat vision look. Talking to you both has helped me decide that is what the filter wants to do... so... back to the drawing board for me. Hot? LOL... you two are funny~
Rawn... here is a photo that includes the pole... obviously had to be cut out of the shot... rule number 1... never trust husband when camera is in his hands. Thanks guys for the advice... I'm off to get some heat seeking vision for this filter. One more photo with the filter the way it is now. P.S. Rawn.. I a moment to give a better watermark,,, then throwing text on. (((The advice was appreciate... the soundboard was perfect... thanks)))  |

Got the look I want... now to work on sliders, finish presets and fill in about screen. I have sliders however they are not named yet... also may add more.. Below is the finished look for the default preset... Alien Vision  |

ok, now it looks like a curves filter with some points on the curve inverted. not my normal kind of filter but may have some uses.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
