Looking good, and while the frames kind of fit color-wise, being tiles, they probably are better left frame-less.

oh my god, girl; you've outdone yourself on these! these are definite WOWS! and i dont give a lot of WOWS.
frames, no frames, i'd like them either way. but keep the frames as an option. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Hi Lynn~
Actually I do have a little 'something, something' I'm playing with... LOL
Gotta remember with me that I'm getting back into the swing of it. For now I'll make filters (((thanking the filter Gods))) , and keep up with comments. It's a joy for me to see what everyone is creating. Give me a week, no more then two and I'll be doing previews again.
Everything is (all clear) on this end,
 LOL
Hey Steve,
I prefer this one without the frames too,,, so beautiful she can't go wrong... Lynn's quite the master with patterns. The designs and textures are soooo stunning... She's got Youza going on... LOL

Thank you very much for the great comments. As far as leaving the option open for the frames, I like to have alot of options with my filters, as the saying goes different strokes for different folks, I think that is how it goes lol
Craig
I can;t wait to see what preset you used and what it looks like. Take your time with it. I don't want to rush you

Craig looks pretty cool. What game is this for? Is there a way you can make the tiles smaller?

the game is wolfenstein - enemy territory, (or just wolf et, or et). it's a freebie ID software put out a number of years ago. i still play it when i want a break from graphics and now i'm working with their editor again because of FF. i'm too cheap to go out and get a good 3d graphic editor, so i use this it's fairly primitive compared to all the new game engines out there and all the new lighting capabilities that came in with new hardware a few years back, but it still gives me a grin to be able to see the textures applied to something like this.
all the textures you see in that pic are from FF except for the crates; those were pre-made.
and yes, i can scale the texture any way i wish. so, yes, i could make the tiles smaller. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Thank you very much Craig for explaining it to me. I rarely play any type of computer games, let along make textures for them. My sole reason at the time I started to play around in grahpics was to make my own images that I liked.
I was lucky to get an copy of poser 5 free from e-frontier. I mainly use paint shop pro 8 for all my image editing.
I think you are doing an great job with it keep it up

thanks, lynn
well, the game and editor are useful for more than playing the game. as you can see in the image, a lot of those textures dont work that well because of seamless tiling. the repetitive pattern is just too tight. so, it helps me understand what one group of filter/texture users might actually need and want in their filters/textures. the floor looks ok, but the brick building needs work. your ceiling tile works because it's not repeating a dual pattern like the brick and because it's a ceiling effect where we expect repetition. so, it's an interesting study.
yes, one of these days i'll have to try out a real 3d editor, like poser. and i've had psp since about version 4.12, when it was free/shareware. it's come a long ways. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

your very welcome Craig, to me poser is an adult version of playing dress up. Except you use models to dress up and pose.
I also picked up from daz3d hexagon at the bargain price of an 1.99. That is the next program I plan on learn, I like the idea of making my own models and using texture that I make using filter forge.

I umderstand where you are comming from, when I use sea, less textures my bigest problem with them is the seam showing or the seam and pattern don't aline just right.
I agree that psp has changed since I first started using it, version 5 is the first version I ever use. Now I mostly used verion 8.1 now. I didn't care much for version 9 when I beta tested it.

lynn, you suggested smaller tiles for the ceiling so i went ahead and adjusted them. i think you're right. looks better
and you might want to look at psp xi. that would be a fairly big upgrade, 3 versions and psp has gotten better. the upgrade cost is pretty reasonable also. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Your very welcome Craig, one thing I have learned about using textures,in an 3d environment is that they have a tenancy to make the pattern look bigger that what they are, that is why I always made them smaller, even though it looks like they might be to small. Sometimes I end up makng 20 texture maps just to get the size and pattern right.
I see what you meant about the bricks, they do look like they are over sized also. I had that probem with an lighthouse I made texture maps for. Is this the first time you made textures for this game?
I will look into the latest upgrade version of psp,

well, the bricks were smaller, but the green pattern repeated too often that way so i resized them larger. i may just change that one altogether.
and re-sizing in this editor is quite easy. i just click on the texture and hit 's' and it brings up a window where i can re-size both the horizontal and vertical or just hit a key called 'fit' and it will auto-fit the texture to the object.
i'm now making breakable windows. quite fun If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
