One suggestion.... unless it's going to be a Vintage tiles 2... you might want to change up the pattern... Other then that... (((((I luvs it!!!!)))))

I still say limit the kaleidescope to the 2 best patterns, so ya don't get stuff like examples #3 and #4 there. But yeah, looking good with the top 2 razor blade latticework ones, keep on this one, it could go somewhere.

The pattern on your new filter however is the same as your Vintage filter...

Okay good to see you downloading the textures!!!! I'm working on filters, or I was last night... I'll work on some more tonight (it was a toss up to download textures or make filters). Believe we have till Monday or Tuesday. Not just us but Ron too is going to run out when we do. See the thread in this forum called 'The Orb' and Foxxee and I are talking about it.

I may or may not have it installed... I can check. I do have AIM... I use it to chat with Revelation sometimes when he's at work. The nick for that one has to do with my Temptress of Fate for my Imeem music site. My AIM handle is xFGMxTemptress.

If you dont' have AIM... I also have a yahoo chat but have never used it. And... just signed up for a gmail Persidio account and that would be Googles chat right thru email... now I don't know how to use it yet (I chat thru threads but not much of a chatter in chat programs... always too busy making graphics or chatting thru threads). If you don't have one of those I'll make sure my MSN chat is installed.

However on whatever chat program we choose I would need to know what nick because if it's not someone I know then I don't accept the chat request.

Don't forget I will chat thru forum threads if there is a filter you want to come up to the top of the Comment forum... I can chat with you one of your filter comment areas (((maybe an older filter you'd like to give some promo attention to)))... Forums threads or chat program... just let me know...

this will not do. someone comes in, starts submitting filters (good filters) and we start to get to know them. not enough HU's and so they get an extension and still producing good filters, but still no HU. and, then the extension runs out and we lose a valuable member of our little group here. or, even if we dont lose them, they are suddenly handicapped by not having FF any more.

i got my freebie through the beta. i have at least 6 HU's that i got after that. HU's are probably getting harder to get now, what with so many filters in the library. but there are still good filters being produced. there will no doubt be another beta down the road sometime, but we dont know when.

so, what do i do if i'm vladimir? that's hard to answer, since i dont know how well FF is doing in the marketplace. can he afford to give out freebies to those that are here producing good stuff but dont have their 3 HU's for the freebie as opposed to losing someone who is contributing good stuff to the library. tough question.

i know we all want jean and lynn and others we've gotten to know to continue here, but i dont know the reality of the marketplace results of FF. and, even if vladimir could afford to give out freebies to a few that dont have the HU requirement, would doing so set a bad precedence where everyone thought they could get one just because they were here in the forums a lot. that can get tricky too and i wouldnt wish the resulting whining on vladimir or anyone else (and dont read that last remark as though i were saying jean and lynn or anyone else here is whining or i'll come over there and spank you!)

in the spirit of vladimir's policies on giving out freebies, aka, rewarding those that contribute, i'd say regardless of the HU requirement, jean and lynn both have contributed to FF's survival at least to the same extent that some of the beta testers did. technically, they dont merit it based on the HU requirement (so far), but i would think there is a third, unacknowledged category of contribution here. we had 1., the beta program and 2., the HU requirement. but i think there is a third, the 'general contribution' category. both of these two (and some others) have been regulars in the forums, helped others out, contributed good filters and, in general, just plain old contributed to FF and the rest of us. and, as such, i think merit the freebie.

so, that's my opinion. i can only hope vlad feels the same way.

Anyway, I agree with the problems it would cause Vlad's policy and the FF company by having other's pour in here as a result of giving away his product to those who didn't have enough HUs just yet. Imagine all the whining and flaming and general mood change that would overwhelm us here in the forums.

How about creating a demo version that has some real limits to it that would allow users to create and submit filters but put some sort of restrictions on it's usability that would encourage demo users to work harder for their 3 HUs, or to think about saving away for the program as I did? This way FF isn't hurting for loss of buying customers, and those that are really serious about FF will either stick it out with the demo till they have earned their 3 HUs or have saved enough up to get the discount using the 1 or 2 HUs they already have towards buying it.
