I just submitted this one, but I wanted to share a couple of other aspects of how the render maps can be used too.

Here is the default setting:

... and a different one I created for this experiment...

The thing is, I included a slider to make the background completely black, which yields a diffuse map like this...

Used along with the other rendering maps, this one can be assigned as an 'emission' map, so when it is used on a 3D object, you get a result something like this...

And one other experiment I did with the bump map from this. Some 3D programs allow you to use images as a 'height map' to create terrain objects. Since a bump map is essentially already a type of height map, I was curious to see what would happen if I used this one to create a terrain object, and here is the result...

So... that's my preview, and a few mad scientist experiments to go with it. smile:D

Big thanks to both of you! smile:)

The last 2 images were done in 2 different programs. The first was rendered with "Anim8or", a great 3D freeware. The second image was rendered with "Bryce 5.5", which is also now available for free download.

(I'm glad you liked my experiments!) smile:D
