I'm really dissatisfied with my latest filter submission, "Cell Energy". Why? Because it looks nothing like I intended. Why?
Because the original filter took a total of 9 minutes to render! Yep... it took 2 minutes for the first pass, and another 7 minutes for the anti-aliasing. ![]() I already read in another post, where a filter was rejected for taking too long to render, and it wasn't even as slow as this one, so I knew I needed to speed mine up. Unfortunately, I ended up with a really 'dumbed-down' version of my original intent. The part which truly bothers me the most though, is that the anti-aliasing is what took so long... and it was totally unnecessary. To show what I mean, here are two images from the original version of this filter. See if you can tell which one was rendered with no anti-aliasing: ![]() ![]() Here's a link to a side-by-side comparison of the two: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/68...sonnn0.jpg Anyway... I guess I just wanted to show what was to be... Okicyapo |

i often just turn off anti-aliasing on all my presets before submitting.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

The presets 'remember' your anti-aliasing settings? I suppose that would work then.
Of course, the first time someone hits the randomizer, wouldn't it revert to using anti-aliasing? Okicyapo |

yes, presets remember whether it's anti-aliased or not. and no, the randomizer will use the last anti-aliasing setting you had. so, if you last used a settings with it off, then randomizing will work as off on the new one. and vice versa if you had it on and then randomized.

Sweet! I guess I'll have to do a sort of 'reverse update' on this one then.
