After the latest update FF crasches in my Vsta, but not before I had used it a few times.
Found a filter I am fascinated of "Bad Trip" Since I write from my XP now and cannot see it before I upgrade, i don't know who made it. I don't dare to upgrade on my XP. here it works thank God!!
Anyway, I just want to show two images where I used Bad Trip and hope the creator of it will see this. Think it gave me two great images.
First one

The second one

You see, I still pop in now and then.
Have been in compurer hell since new year when my firewall cracked and I was invaded by lots and lots of evil things. In almost one month I fighted in all possible ways, but had to give up and reformat. Even after that I have had problems so I have got Computer stress. Must be a new disease, at least for me. My bloodpressure is dangerously high and I cannot sleep more than 1-2 hours at a time. My day and night is a patchwork of sleep and wake.
Hope it will be better now when problems are solved.
I miss FF on my Vista, but support said it is a known bug they work on.

Hope you are well guys!!
Gun

Thanks Steve, i already has the filter, just that the whole program crashes in vista, so I cannot use it. I can download new filters, but when I open an image i FF I get an errör message and it closes down. As I said i have mailed support and showed the file. just hope they can solve it soon. For this filter i need the latest upgrade, so I cannot use it on my other computer. Dont dare to upgrade, because it works fine, but without the latest filters.
The error looks like this

Can you go back to XP???

I'm still using XP because Vista still has too many bugs and adaptability problems.....like you are experiencing with running FF on it..... smile:|

I have one new Vista and one older XP I decided to keep my Xp instead of sell it. had not got so muxch for it now when new computers are so cheap.
I have not dared to update FF on my XP. Do you thnk I can do that without crashing it in the same manner?
I was very doubtful when I decided to try Vista. I love XP, but that computer, or more right all coputers except those for companies, now are Vista, i begged, but it was impossible to get XP on it.

hi gun smile:)

nice pics!

if you have both an XP and a vista, simply copy the files from the vista to the xp. it shld work fine. just copy the filter you have in vista over to the xp machine. put it on a cd, dvd or whatever and copy it over to the xp. or, if you have the two computers networked, just copy it through the network. the filters are just .xml files and shld work fine on both machines.

and as for upgrading the xp machine, i am running xp and FF 1.015 and it works fine. i cant guarantee the same for your machine, of course. and, a couple of folks did report some problems when they upgraded to 1.015, so, go look in the bugs forum if you're worried and see what they encountered.

and chill out. get some sleep. have some fun smile:)

Thanks Belira and you guys!
One thing that make me hesitate upgrading my XP. When upgrading Vista I suddely was oveloaded of a lot of filters I had not chosen and did not want, while my own filters kind of disappeared.
i have collected filters I love, very carefully, not to get so many they confuse me. i even have got filters made for me. They are gone in Vista.
tried to copy from my Xp but they did not show up or did not fall in the former categories,
All that make me dont upgrade I think.

Despite the problems I can play smile:) smile:) smile:) and that is the main thing

Thanks!

Now I have done as muh as I can. I uninstalled and reinstalled both the latest version and the version before (which I had saved on my HD)
It just gives the error and shuts down.'
Now it is up to the program makers.
it's a pity because these latest filters are so great and i can't wait till I can use them again.
No I don't dare to upgrade my XP, maybe I loose that one too with all my old favourites.

patience dear Gun!! LOL

gun, you dont have to upgrade your xp FF if you already have downloaded the filters on the vista machine. just copy them over to the xp machine.

Yes Craig, But first i have to upgrade my XP. The new filter are not possible to use in the older versions of FF. I have tried, you know smile:)
OK, I will make a backup of my whole FF filter folder and try. if it dont work I just install the old one again and patiently wait LOL
When I think...the new version did work in the beginning, otherwise i could not have made those images, so maybe it is something on my own computer that stopps it. On the other hand, the support said it was a known problem.
But they also work in Photoshop, so maybe it was there I made them. Just the thing, I am not at ease and don't know Pshop as good as my old PSP, have not learned to work that good with layers.

Thanks to you and you other guys for caring. One day it will work, one way or another. Then i tell you. In the mantime....another fun use of a filter

Gun

Thank you...and I agree about Vista, but for me it was the only option despite that I almost fell on my knees and cried to get XP, LOL They only sell it to companies now, no persons. So silly, since most people like XP so much more than Vista
