uhm, i dont see 'sand'. it's not grainy enough for that. i see more a rough plaster or even a stucco. it's like a paint over a rough surface.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

It looks like synthetic stucco. (aka EIFS) I think people would use it.

The bumps are very cool, but sand is much more grainy than you think. Technically, you should see lots of minuscule pebbles and shells, depending on how close up you want to get. Otherwise, a grainy noise of two or more colors would be fine.

hmm its a hard choice..You could go either way with the stucco or recycled paper...
