Here's another attempt to make a playable game with filter forge. Found it in one of my old filter folders and decided to give it a bit more work. To to speed up rendering try smaller image sizes, or lowering the detail and roughness controls. I use 300x300 on my i7 920 system and with the default preset it's playable. If it's still rendering too slow try the 'Simple' mode. You can also render the board and game pieces ('men') seperately and play in your paint program of choice. Lots of info on Nine Men's Morris can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nine_Men's_Morris ![]() |

Thanks, Kraellin (you're hardly a novice, btw
![]() Yeah it's all in the filter (except the text and arrows and stuff in the images). I've been playing it all day. It's just a little something I made for fun. It may not be the coolest game, but it is FF afterall... not a game engine. Not really sure what prompted me to submit it. Hopefully someone has fun with it. I tried to work out a control scheme that makes sense, but I'm not sure I like how it's set up. I may change things around a bit later. It needs some more optimization to really be playable at default resolution. I've gotten it down to 12 - 18 seconds so far, but I think I can do better. At 300x300 it takes from 2 - 6 seconds to render a frame on my system, which is a little slow, but playable. Usually I'm looking at the controls during most of that time anyway. That's on an overclocked i7 920 though, so results will vary. If rendering time is too long you can render the board and men as seperate layers and play in a paint program. I'll update it if there's any interest. I've got some more board and man styles almost ready too. Also, I may add a couple variants to it... I have a few other games started which I may polish up and submit. Depends on whether or not anyone has any interest in playng around with them. |

Hey meyendlesss,
I will go along with Craig,
I'm not into games myself, except on PS3. My Wife & Grandchildren are. Nevertheless, I give you a "A" on that one! Different stokes for different.. you know, LOL.. Great work! ![]() Have a GREAT day! ![]() Ron zazzle.com/Ronspassionfordesign*

Thanks ronjonnie.
I'm known by more than a few people as a 'Different folk' ![]() I'm not really sure why I made this one, let alone why I submitted it to the library. I've had a bit of a challenge with myself to see what kinds of games are possible in FF. Tic-tac-toe was the first one I did, but only submitted a very simple version. Maybe I just have too much time on my hands. Has anyone played a game of this yet? It's a very simple game to play, but can be tough to win. I played against myself most of yesterday and got my butt kicked. ![]() |
