Loving the texture these voxel pieces have.

Are you actually using voxels in FF to generate these? I'm sort of new to it so I'm not familiar with it, or are you just using noise in height maps for the illusion of volumetrics? Or is the PBR surface engine just better than I thought XD

Thanks.

No actual voxels here, sorry. Just some 2D trickery to give the illusion of depth. Basically it's a loop drawing 512 thin overlapping circles that are being distorted with a noise. The softer, gaslike stuff is another loop, creating a zoom blur type of glow (also using a noise texture to distort the glow).

That's sweet! Are there any resources you suggest for learning to use the loop tool? Or just trial and error until understanding? I haven't touched it quite yet.

You can check out the FF manual by pressing F1. Go to Components - Advanced - Loop. There are a few example files there to get you started.

Wow! loving this scatter cube series. Just all the little detail put into it O.O its crazy. Was scattercube 02 all done in one filter? Or did you generate it then use a camera lens simulating filter for the flare and light rays?

Emme, this is mindblowing! You definitely go beyond what anybody thought could be possible with Filter Forge. Great work. Just curious, how long does it take to render an HD image of this filter on your machine?
Are you sometimes using Photoshop to polish you images or do you stay strictly inside FF?

Thanks!

Ziggy, I think I used 3 or 4 filters. Most of it is generated in one filter, including the light rays. The lens flare is added by another filter, and finally some color tuning and stuff.

raabix, rendering times are somewhere around 30 minutes (+ post processing). I do all the post processing inside FF - no Photoshop needed smile:)

really loving the framing of this one! Has an art gallery feel to it or a vinyl album cover. What is a usual source of inspiration for your work? Music, other's art, etc?

On the paintballs, is it a basic filter or material? Almost want an extra layer of circle packing in it smile:D I can almost imagine the texture and feel of them on a counter.

Wonderful work as always emme.

Thanks Ziggy! Sure, I draw inspiration from both arts and nature / science. Any interesting images I come across, I like to save into an "inspiration" folder. No categories, just thousands of random images - a great place to look for inspiration. Online I mostly browse Behance.

Paintballs is a basic filter. I usually like to build my own shaders, this one uses a raycasting map script to render the reflections between the spheres.

Martin, and I might be wiser to just use octane for this stuff - this one took 9 hours to render haha smile:D

Oh. Wow. That piece is gorgeous. Like it gives a feeling of colour pencil or watercolour to shade the isometric scene. Thoroughly perplexed by how you managed that piece.

Happy New Year emme, looking forward to seeing more of your work this year.

Thanks emme! I feel like I definitely need to understand shaders a ton more if I'm wanting to use this program to it's full potential. The breakdown of this helps me with trying to understand it more.

Thank you and keep up the amazing work!

Thanks guys!

The font part eats most of the components, other than that it's pretty simple smile:)
