Yes, that is indeed how the brushes are done. You can give it a try, just don't expect it to be fast smile:)

Slowly making progress with this raymarching thingy. Great for alien landscapes smile:)

Added soft shadows - starting to look more interesting now. The scene is lit by 2 direct lights with diffuse and specular shading + simple ambient occlusion. The SDF is just some warped perlin noise. Still relatively fast - rendering time around 4 min.

Haha, thanks smile:)

Improved the lighting to estimate global illumination a bit better. Any feature suggestions? Might share the filter later.

It's pretty flippin' cool as is, but what about adding the ability to add water (you know, for the ripply reflections)? Also, your first iteration of this looked like it was underwater and was very cool too. Just a thought.

Yeah, water and reflections is definitely on the todo-list. I have a crude way of rendering raymarched reflections, but currently it's really broken and slows everything down by about 6x.

Underwater is a cool idea. I guess the trick is to make the lighting very diffused and lower the visibility. Maybe disabling directional shadows and using mostly ambient occlusion.

Here's a test with the broken reflections smile:)

This was a fun one.

The 90 degree rotational symmetry turned out to be a bit more challenging than I expected. Also managed to keep it nicely optimized with under 2 seconds per frame smile:)

Emme! It's been a while and it's awesome to see you continuing on with all this stuff.
So I have a question: how are you batch-rendering animation stuff?

I'm currently on a Windows machine... I realized my options for batch rendering are a bit limited.

I'm using FFEasyMorph and FFEasyRender by FFCreator. Works great with FF10. Check out this thread for links https://filterforge.com/forum/read.php...id=4895175

Trying out some more complex shapes - spheres were kind of cheating smile:D

I really admire emme what you are able to in FF, is really special and unique and beyond any "normal" use and on a much higher level

WOW!! This 3D cubes with realistic shadows and multiple colors look stunning and awesome, I have no idea how you have done this, and could not believe that this really was even possible to be done in FF in such great way

1. generate some random patterns
2. do some bitmap processing (max + min + edge detection)
3. fill values with colors / patterns using a map switch
4. apply a cmyk printing effect (break the image into cmyk -components and render each one as an angled dot matrix)

Here are the steps visualized:

Hi emme! Big fan of your works! I was wondering if you could help me out with "framework 09". I would really like to know the magic behind it since my bird brain can't comprehend how you made it, or at least some help how to make similar ones, I really like your framework designs.
