Can anyone tell me what filter was used for the effects shown on page 9 and 10 of this thread (images below)? I didn't see it m

Hi Ozymandias,
That was an accidental filter, made trying to figure something else out. It's messy, but kind of interesting. I'll post it for you if you like.

When I get a bit of time I'll post some of these old filters. I just haven't had much time lately for Filter Forging.

Pipe test - good method
I like all the schmutz on the pipes and the streaks.
I don't like the lack of continuity between the pipes. The loops don't look right; pipes never actually do that.

Playing around with Soviet Space Station filter and smudge node. Also trying a different (simpler) way to find the corners of the panels, just using percentage, rather than several offsets & blends.

Playing around with a circuit thing. Sorta works. Trying to get the dots at the ends of the wires. Almost there but not quite.

I realize this is a very old thread, but maybe somebody will know:

Was the steelerizer filter ever released?

I love the rusterizer filter, but it often renders very dark images for me. Anybody have suggestions for keeping the height, but making it produce lighter results? (I've tried modifying the filter myself, but haven't made much progress.)

I found the steelerizer -- it wasn't released officially, just on the forum. (Should've looked before I asked.)

I've downloaded a bunch of Corvus Croax's filters from the old threads, and some of Three Dee's and DJI's -- most of Uber's seem to be gone -- can anyone recommend other old threads with filters?

Just a forewarning: Anything left on the forums can are technically dubious for commercial / non-commercial usage. Just ask the author to see if it's cool to be used somewhere.

Would recommend to play it safe, ask the author or find some statement explicitly giving everybody rights.

Most of us post on the forums for test purposes, troubleshooting, sharing ideas, or just to show off.

Thank you for the heads-up! I didn't realize that there was a difference between the forum and official filters.

FF is putting the forum filters in a different folder, so I think I can keep track of which are which.

Yeah, I put some of those here, so I can actually find them in the future, and to show things in progress. Anything I post here is fine to use. (If it isn't ok, I don't post it.)

Hi Haras Arch: No, I don't think I ever submitted the Steelerizer as an actual filter, but I could. Do you want it?

I was going to make a similar thing which was more generalized: the idea was a thing that could do a combination of metal, wood and gold, all using the same image source.

Looking back through at some of this stuff, I realize I should just submit it all. I sometimes just stop working on half-finished ideas. But there is plenty here that are probably good-enough. Soviet Space Station, Vertical Line finder, and the steelerizer are probably good examples.

So, I dug out my old filters and decided to submit some more of them to the library. (Updating them is a hassle... especially for the large ones.) So, here's an old one I made - just a simple make a techy-looking frame - thing. Submitted to the library!

Dug out the filter for 'Soviet Space Station'. This was made ages ago - before loops, before bombers, even, IIRC. Will try to update it and send it to the library.

The interesting part of this filter is how it creates the panels, inset from each face. Then, creates bolts at the corners of those panels.
