Day 38. Here's a shot at something somewhat like ferro-fluids. Thanks to Skybase for the original diffusion code. I found ways to speed it up, it was terrifyingly slow... it took 42 seconds to generate a 600x600 image in the modified filter. Slow to preview at first, then finishes fast in the final passes.

Too cool for school. I am sure some clever person will integrate this into their digital artwork and blow people's minds.

Day 44 of Chaos Ltd. Here's a last study of the new filter. I'll probably have it out in a couple of days as a snippet. I like the look, but it will be slow for some. Since I modified it from the original reaction diffusion snippet by adding blended derivatives, I'm calling the new method derivative diffusion.

Very nice.
I wonder if it would be possible to separate the red/pink area from the white/blue area. Now the red lines draw deep lines on the white/blue surface. If the red lines could appear like pine leaves dropped all over the picture, it could be an interesting variation. |

I've enjoyed using Picaso by geekatplay. Great filter! I was frustrated by what it can't do (what, can't scramble my eggs?). So, I am working on Picasso Redux, basically taking the core of the Picaso filter and tweaking, adding color features, and enhancements to existing functionality. Here is a probable preset of the lifesaver.
