Ok, and feel free to use them with your filters if you like too. Never tried one of them for anything in FF but now it sounds interesting smile;)

Here's my first pic. This is 'Astasia' the Ranger (of course). Rangers are my favorite character class, I pick them all the time now because I know them pretty well... and she doesn't have to be close up to see any blood or gore either smile:D

Astasia's love interest... Casavir smile:love:
A neat feature of NWN2 is the Influence System. You can influence many of the npcs by the way you act and the things you chose to do or say when in their presence. They can like you, love you (eventually) or dislike you, and every game the story slightly changes, experiences are a bit different, events will or will not occur, so there's always something new... why I'm playing it for the 5th time smile:D

Yes, the graphics are really lovely. The freedom to move is not quite as free as Oblivion, you could swim and scale mountains and vault from roof to roof if you got very good in acrobatics. But in NWN2 the story is very involving because of the depth of the npcs you play with. They all have such great personalities, you'll either draw very attached to them or try to avoid them as much as possible smile;)

This female Woodelf is Elanee. She is the guy's love interest, if you can influence her to fall for you. But be warned... there is very little by way of romance smile:(
We have been clambering in the NWN2 forums for more so maybe they will do that for us in this new expansion coming up smile:D

good pics. i like the 'influence' idea. that was something i had in my designed game, only i called it 'reputation'. and reputation influenced the way npc's would interact with you, but with one notable difference. reputation had a limited sphere of influence. so, locals would know you for your reputation quite well, but the further away you got from your base of operation, the less influence reputation had, until you started operating in a different area.

yes, i like that idea.

not so sure rpg's shld start going 'soap opera', but hey, i had a few online romances and i know a few even got married through rpg contact smile:)

Ahh, why not!?! Like you just pointed out, when you play in a Persistent World online it happens all the time and the guys don't seem to complain about it then smile;)
SO don't bother trying to influence her then... and don't say 'yes' when she asks... umm... well... smile:blush:

Can't recall the Dragon's name, but she is a nasty one. There are a few others, one that I wish could have been rescued from his doom though. He was a very cool looking dark crystal dragon smile:D

Is this just a computer game or is there a Playstation version? Oblivion sounds interesting to me because of the acrobatics which is one reason I love Tomb Raider so much.

I'm not sure... I'll have to check that out too when I see if there's a demo for NWN2.
I'll let you know.

I loved Oblivion for the HUGE world you get to explore. I'd spend hours practicing scaling sheer mountainsides just to get to the very top (which was usually very blizzardy. The weather changes a lot according to the areas, and you will get sand storms in the deserty areas too... cool, with all the howling sound affects smile:D

Oh, my favorite was actually having a horse, very realistic sound and movement, nothing clunky about them at all! You can have them walk, canter or run full speed, but be careful when you explore dangerous places or cliffy areas. Monsters love to attack your horse first, I've seen them attack soldiers horses and then go after the horseless knight and kill them... (sniff) I've also fallen over extremely high cliffs on my poor horse, that is scary. No safe zoning areas to preventing you from slipping and falling, you will and it will kill you or seriously mangle you. Then you may end up watching a horde of goblins come out of the rocky crags and start picking at you alive smile:|

For all that Oblivion is my most favorite game, but for an immersive story and characters you really end up loving or hating, NWN 2 is the best. You even get to earn a Keep and manage it, hire town merchants and craftsmen, restore the Keep inside and out, fight battles tha come to you and all sorts of other good stuff!

Great, I'm going to have to play a little tonight now... getting that rpg itch smile:-p

Hi Steve! Are you a gamer too???

I've been a serious gamer since Zork came out for my Apple 2E, after that it's been RPG sailing ever since smile:D

I think Dilla said he was into it too... I know Craig is smile:)
Would be so fun if we could all get together in a Persistent World and go to battle or explore unexplored areas!

Ahimsa, no console game for NWN2... sorry. I think it is too huge for it to be really playable with all the influence system and lip-syncing and so many varying things that can burden a console set I think. I even had to upgrade my nVidia to the highest I could afford so I could turn all it's options up to max and still play smoothly.

And Craig... no demo either... sorry about that also smile:(

With the 'Mask of The Betrayer' xp coming out hopefully next month you might want to save up and by the package, NWN2 with xp included. It expands the game story, and, they are going to implement the ability for friends to use lan or online to join together to play out the story itself! Plus, NWN2 community is constantly making good mods over at IGNs Neverwinter Nights 2 Vault smile:D It's a never ending rpg world smile:D

Just finished a sample for Davidhyno's filter smile:)

You will only need to get the one NWN2... then the expansion. But since it may come out next month they may offer a Deluxe Edition where you'll get both for a much lower price than buying seperately smile:D

I didn't know you were pregnant.....congradulations!!! smile:beer: smile:banana: smile:ff: smile:beer: smile:banana: smile:ff: smile:beer:

yeah, although I haven't had any time to play at all lately, I'm a PS2 "Armored Core" series fanatic.....mech warriors from the ground up.....all kinds of different engines, radiators, bodies, arms, legs, and heads that all have different capabilities and functions.....combined with endless weaponry....which makes building them half the fun. The combat and endless strategies can suck you in for days without stopping for food, water, or sleep..... LOL smile:)

If you find a cool one that we all could play online together, I'd give it a try.... smile:)

I'm not pregnant, my son's wife is. She's having a boy and his name is Leviathon. My first Grandchild so I am very excited. Plus I get to take care of him about 50 hours a week.

I would love for all of us to get together and play a game online. I think that would be a lot of fun.

Sure, I have a bad case of insomnia (not fun to sleep all day though) but I'm up.
Oblivion was not made for mulitplayers, though someone may have made that possible with a mod... will have to check. They also came out with 2 more xps for it which I have not played yet. I loved swiming. Actually felt that all the physical activities I was really doing myself, lots of fun in that one.

For NWN2 they will make it possible for friends to hook up and play together in small groups. And modders make PWs to play in too smile:D

Yes I've got an xbox and had a n64 but actually since ff haven't played any games. Xbox 360 [ I don't have ] got oblivion on it, and have friends mad on Warcraft. You should know men never really grow up - Steve and I discussed when we first met with finding a game but we couldn't find anything suitable and he was scared I'd thrash and humiliate him and I hate when he cries smile:D

Sounds like the game Foxxee plays would be a good one for us to play together even if it's only on weekends when you guys don't work.

I want either an XBox 360 or a PS3. Can't decide.

Big question...when you play Oblivion of NWN, do you play in third person or first? I can only play third person or I get sick. I know, I'm no fun.

You get to play both in Oblivion but no first person in NWN2.

well, i went out and bought NWN2. cute smile:) running a fighter to start. that's usually the easiest to play in these. doing the campaign. just retrieved the first shard. hehe... shard, ring, magic sword... ticked me off that Amie got killed. and what happened to the kid rogue that was in my party during the tutorial? bah!

the game is a little sluggish, but not bad. i can probably just cut my video options down a bit or maybe tweak the mouse settings a bit. and boy, i really dont like not having a first person point of view. still, it's managable. all these view changes, indoors for one, outdoors for another... that gets old.

i also got a bit lucky. i was using belev, beliv (???), for a pack mule. since the foster father kicked him out of my party, i'm not sure i can now retrieve the stuff i had him carrying. i dont like arbitraries in forced story lines.

still, i just realized i've been playing the thing for about six hours, so that says something smile:)

i think i'll make a better DM, though. i like building worlds and tweaking scenarios as much or more than playing in them. so, once i get a bit more familiar with the game, that's where i'll probably go smile:)

no mods yet, but i did spend quite a bit of time getting all the standard updates for the game. i think the updates took longer to install than the original game smile:)

I hope you'll consider doing this... the world is beautiful, the tool set is pretty much easy to learn if you've used the first one, and from what you've shared of your days of DMing game for your friends in the past the stories would be very interesting and I bet unpredictable too smile:D
