Thanks SpaceRay. The only issue I might have: does anyone know if there is a limit on the number of controls in a released filter? In one of the square tessellations there are 32 control points, each point has 2 controls, so the total is over 70 with the other controls.

Later today I'm going to look at using images in some way. Just the hex version at first, to see if a way to tile using variable "stretch" scaling and apply that to a edge altered triangles. What fun!

Beat, thanks for your comments. I will definitely look into the book, I'm guessing it might cost a bit... like the high school connection across the pond. I like Klee as well. He sure made some stuff from odd materials... poor archivists nightmare.

What can I say? Amazing, I love cat art as it is, this is great. Hey I can let you download the full resolution version if you want. Many cats (including my Kiko) have the equilateral triangle around the eyes to the chin as the point. Lion King indeed.

Morgantao already has done some nice ball pits, here is a new take on using an image, modifying Many Circles.

I'm trying out some Lightnin'.ThreeDee has made an excellent version already, Forked Lightning. Trying it in a different way, here is a very preliminary start.

I like where you are going with the lightning Rachel. I've been wanting to write a lightning filter myself because none of the existing filters forks in a convincing enough way. I've been putting some thought into how to get it to fork in a random fashion somewhat like a tree root by creating a series of layers which each consist of one strand of light together with one side of the layer filled in with black, the other side transparent. What I haven't figured out yet is how to avoid crossing strands.

OH!! these are very good and interesting, and like the triangular lines and like it much. I suposse and think that may be very difficult to make the square ones mixed too.

Yes, this kind of cactus is very perfect done and follow very well this spiral shapes and would be good to have a filter that could follow this same shape
