In previous page at the end I have put 2 examples of circular stripes, and here I put 2 more using vertical stripes instead

When using Vertical stripes instead with symmetrical polar coordinates (Polar Distort by CFandM) you get Radial stripes

6 VERSIONS OF THE STRIPES ALREADY AVAILABLE IN FILTER LIBRARY

I have finally finished and submitted 6 of the 7 versions available that I have done with the 10 stripes idea, find all of them here

The 7th versión will most probably not be available in the FF online Library for technical reasons but will be available in the forum

Here is the Horizontal Kaleidoscope version

Now I got an idea about dominoes made inside Filter forge

CUSTOMIZABLE DOMINO TILES WITH FF FOR ART CREATIONS

Please read the above link before knowing what this is about

And the the filter I have done with bomber is thanks to the great and well done snippet DIE by meyendlesss and then using my own 11 stripes filter and replacing the stripes with the domino pieces using frames.

Here is the basic design

I love it. It looks like dice, though, and not dominos. In my opinion, that is a good thing, because you can be more flexible with the colors. A domino wouldn't be recognizable as a domino unless both halves of the domino had the same color.

Dice are nice!

YES! you are totally right and I agree, this really are not domino tiles, they are made as dice, as I did not know really how to join the two parts to make a domino tile. Thanks for telling it.

I agree that for looking like a domino, you must see that both parts have the same color

I agree that even this does not look like domino tiles and are really looking like dices, this is not something bad, and is also something good and an alternative, and as you say with this you are more flexible with colors and not attached to the rectangular shape. And I also like the idea of these dices as alternative to the domino

ALPHABET TEXTURE CREATOR WITH SOLID LETTERS AND SHADOWS

I have already done the Alphabet Texture creator filter and is available but I made it with blending modes and transparency with opacity, and wanted to try also to make totally solid letters and with shadow as if they are like in a fake 3D

You should upload more of your filters. I'm sure you have great ones in your FF. smile:)

Thanks Ramlyn, sorry for the late answer one year later, many things have changed much since I updated this thread since the last time, for example I my original computer is broken, and all the filters are in the internal hard drive, and I can´t take it out. I need to repair it but I have not been able to do it in all this time. Also there are more additional personal problems that makes me not able to continue making filters. When I can do it again I will put some others.

Thanks for your comment glad you like it, although there is no secret behind this, as it is a render from the filter and then used a multiply blend mode with the source image (that I do not remember what was) using Photoshop, although this can be done also inside FF if wanted.

Thanks also for bringing back this thread again

To be able to quote something, you have to first select the text you want to quote, and then while selected click on the quote button, and this way it will work. It will not quote the image, so you have do to do it manually, go over the image, copy image adress and then click on the "image" button on the post and put this link inside the quote

MATCH STICKS (matches) AS ART

After much time without making any filter, I wanted to make something I have seen is missing in the FF LIbrary or forum, and is to make art with matches, or match sticks, or even simple sticks, so I wanted to try to make something with this and I am getting some good results as seen below

I am making the matches in plain 2D as I do not know how to make them in 3D (seeing two of the sides instead of only one)

I have been searching in internet if any anybody else is making art with matches in a artistic way pasted on a picture and NOT as sculpture and I found thiis beautiful one

Match sticks colorful art by Melody Jhonson

I like the textures she can create, although is painted the whole of the stick and I want to keep the head of the matches visible and differentiated from the body, so you can clearly see that they are matches

Here I put the first test I have done using the FF Ladybug

Here is detail of the above image, where can be seen better the match sticks and that I have used a soft shadow (maybe I should add more shadow) and also have used the Depth map in bomber with Perlin Noise

I wanted to change the colors of the head sticks but yet I have not found the way to do it and that it looks right, so for now they are all red, excepts some that have changed their color by error.

Apart from the above examples of Match Sticks I have also found other similar things that not found in the FF Library or forum, at least that I have seen, and that I will make filters with these objects below

POPSICLES ICE CREAM STICKS AS ART

Another thing I have not seen available in FF is using the popsicles ice cream sticks that could give cool and interesting textures as base for source images, or paint the images themselves inside the sticks

For example

Popsicle sticks as source for art

CIGARRETES AS ART

Cigarretes as art

Another thing that is used as art and has similar shape to be used as the above two, are cigarretes either full or used

For example the very good photographer and Artist Chris Jordan that makes art with many usual custom things as shown in his collection "intolerable beauty" also have used thousands of cigarretes for one creation

Cigarretes acumulation by Chris Jordan

Look at the works in the same collection

You have just witnessed the complications with the current bomber! The powerless component has trouble dealing with pre-colored input, forcing you to deal with colors after you pass through data. How painful!

Then the bomber+ happened. The magical beast can actually solve your problems ... but actually (and unfortunately) extremely slow (for extremely obvious reasons). But hey it works.

Below is just a sample. I just saw the filter and whipped the basic shape out, not necessarily to have it exact but close. I also don't know if shading can properly be applied to this kind of thing. [edit] just to explain why, the problem with it is that those matchsticks are overlapping each other, given that it's a tad bit more tricky to properly generate the necessary height channel since beveling will create weird bumps that overlap each other.. causing possible weird shading.

So that's not easy ... however... It's where things to get so weirdly complicated, but the solution can be as simple as "maybe it looks visually ok".

In general, I think as long as it looks "visually ok" then you're clear. It's just when you publish that filter on the library, you have to then start considering if the normal map comes out ok for use in 3D programs, or if the filter's optimized, or if the controls are interesting etc.

If you're interested in the filter, PM me. It's honestly awkward to post a filter when you haven't posted the filter yourself.

After so much time without posting here I decided to continue again and have it here

Thanks Skybase for explaining about the Matchsticks, although I lost the filter as my computer broke and have to find the backup and do not know where it is.

I have made a new thread for inspiration images I may find

Inspirational ideas with images and videos for creating filters in FF

In the third page Rachel Duim have awesomely made a filter based on one of my images with circles as shown in this link and then she uploaded the filter beta test prototype on her own page here

I have been testing it and have made some modifications and by accident got this that it seems to be in some way something like a butterfly made with circle lines

And here is the filter that makes this butterfly shown here that is a beta version that could have more thigns added

I tried to remove the background color from the free ellipse component and the result was not what I expected, but by accident I got this other result that looks cools.

As said above, thanks to Rachel Duim for making the original Circle Repeat 4 PROTO filter

It will have maybe around 300 presets.

This has been possible thanks to uberzev showing the way to do Fractal Tesselation Challenge and although the filter is not available he showed a screenshot of how should be done and I have modified it a little.
